COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Okay, weíre busted! Weíre calling this beer a weiss; itís not! Weíre suggesting itís from Miami; weíve never even been there. Confused? So are we.

What we know is it is an American style take on a traditional German wheat beer - A Pale Wheat. Rather than a mild hop presence, this baby is packed with Pacific Northwest hops. Itís made with a pale ale yeast which doesnít produce the same banana flavour you find in German weiss beers. We also know that it goes down smooth and tastes terrific.

So, whatís with the name Miami Weiss? Itís just something the guys in marketing came up with.

Nice amber pour, big fluffy white head. Great aroma of piney hops, touches of citrus, and some light malted wheat. Good carb, mouthfeel is great. Lovely orange zest flavor, and the hop oils seem to cover my tongue in citrus. Not at all what i was expecting.

Bomber from LCBO. Hazy pale orange with a white head, decent amount of lacing down the glass. Wheat, sugar, mild yeast, coriander, floral and citrus, some bitterness/hops. Initially somewhat sweet but then becomes bitter, low carbonation, a very nice dry and bitter finish. Although not so great at the beginning it does become quite tasty as it develops, could do with a little more balance. Worth at least trying.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2011 Good, but rough around the edges. Pours a hazy deep gold with short lived fizzy head. The aroma is grapefruit out the wah-zoo, thats about it, but thatís not necessarily a complaint. The flavour starts out with a resiny hop drop kick of grapefruit, there is some pale malts, biscuit, and such, but itís really stands in the back ground while the grapefruit goes to town. Itís a good concept, and itís not a bad beer, but itís a little rough, the hops are too prevalent and a little harsh. Hop Sun was considerably better balanced version of this hoppy weiss. Other then that, thumbs up!

Pours a very cloudy darker yellow, with a billowy white head of a couple fingers. Great spongy lacing adorns the sides. Crisp citrus aroma, with some light floral notes and some bread. Nice initial bitterness, with some citrus and grassy hop notes, light bready notes. Lighter body, slightly crisp, with a clean finish. Goes down smooth and clean. Tasty wheaty.

From bottle. pours a cloudy amber colour. Reasonable head initially that disperses. Lacking on the nose i feel. Aroma is fresh, a little citrus and some hops but is thin. Initial flavour is classic weissbier, grassy, wheat then the hops arrive and that IPA bitterness. Citrus notes abound, lemons. Excellent palate, smooth with enough bubbles to carry the flavour and tingle the taste buds but without significant carbonation. Agreed, label is a bit of a shocker, nice pun though...

My Bottom Line :
Tropical fruit galore ride this svelte Pale Aleís wheat subtleties, as bitter hop resins claim the palate for the long run.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A sheet of foam covers the cloudy beige.
-The citrusy hop nose is as compelling as the crisp mouthfeel.
-This is obviously super drinkable for hopheads.
-Mouthfeel is polished; the dryness increases drinkability too.
-This is one of the ugliest labels Iíve seen in a while.

Bottle.

650 mL bottle from the LCBO, served in a weizen glass. Pours hazy golden with a tall white head. The head fades slowly to... and leaves a moderate amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are huge notes of grapefruit and pine, along with a touch of pale malts. The flavour is moderately bitter throughout, with a huge amount of grapefruit. Notes of wheat and pale malts are also present, but take a back seat to the grapefruit. The finish is long, bitter and citric. On the palate, it is light-medium in body with a dry texture and intense carbonation. Overall, an interesting brew--light and dry with wheat on one hand, and intensely citric on the other. The combination of wheat and IPA works surprisingly well. 2011-10-06

This is basically a wheat IPA. Itís rather hoppy with a sharp bitter finish and a noticeable wheat character. The aroma is dominated by citrusy, grassy hops.

I tried this beer on September 23, 2011 after obtaining a bottle from a friend. The beer pours a hazy orange gold with a thin tan head that lasts. Aroma is citrusy hops with a hint of wheat and yeast. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is citrusy hops, peppery spice, and some sweet malt tones. I enjoyed it a great deal.

650 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours golden in colour, some suspended yeast. Smallish white head, a little lace on the glass. Aroma and taste are wheaty, lots of sharp bitter, resiny hops. Dynamite!!
