COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Okay, weíre busted! Weíre calling this beer a weiss; itís not! Weíre suggesting itís from Miami; weíve never even been there. Confused? So are we.

What we know is it is an American style take on a traditional German wheat beer - A Pale Wheat. Rather than a mild hop presence, this baby is packed with Pacific Northwest hops. Itís made with a pale ale yeast which doesnít produce the same banana flavour you find in German weiss beers. We also know that it goes down smooth and tastes terrific.

So, whatís with the name Miami Weiss? Itís just something the guys in marketing came up with.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2011 2011-12-09. Lightly hazy bright yellow body with a mdoest white head. 3+ Hoppy aroma, floral, grassy character. 7+ Good amount of hops and bitterness in the flavour, grassy hops, straw notes, pale malt underpinnings and a bit of wheat character. Average plus bodied palate. Enjoyable. 7/3/7/3/15 Tap at Great Lakes Project Xmas

2010-04-01. Lightly hazy golden body with a small white head. Mild aroma, fruity and lightly yeast with some grassy hops. 6+ Flavour is similarly fruity, lightly floral with a modest grassy bitterness throughout. Average palate. At the time I was thinking it was not really to style for a hefe, but as a hoppy wheat ale that seems to fit it more. Enjoyable, but a touch mild overall for my liking. 6/3/6/3/13 Cask at the brewery.

Sampled at the Cíest What spring festival 28/05/10. Pours a light amber with decent white head. Aroma boasts fairly piney hops. A decent malting is evident. Hoppy taste with some good malt to back it up. Itís a little thin but perhaps thatís unfair considering I had it after the imperial heffe by the same brewer. Good.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2011 Good, but rough around the edges. Pours a hazy deep gold with short lived fizzy head. The aroma is grapefruit out the wah-zoo, thats about it, but thatís not necessarily a complaint. The flavour starts out with a resiny hop drop kick of grapefruit, there is some pale malts, biscuit, and such, but itís really stands in the back ground while the grapefruit goes to town. Itís a good concept, and itís not a bad beer, but itís a little rough, the hops are too prevalent and a little harsh. Hop Sun was considerably better balanced version of this hoppy weiss. Other then that, thumbs up!

Thanks to JB84 for this. The design of this bottle is so atrocious that its pretty hilarious. Brilliant. Pours a cloudy golden. Lots of grapefruit aroma. Tastes quite a bit of wheat, coriander, citrus with a bit of resinous hops. This is pretty decent.

650ml bottle. Pours hazy yellow with golden aspirations and a short white head. Well thatís very citrusy on the nose with some light spice and banana. A letdown on the palate, all things considered. Kind of watery, nice spice level and some good banana elements but overall itís kind of hallow.

Bottle, shared with TylerDurden. Hazy pale yellow. Hoppy aroma, guava and ligh pine. Light wheaty body with green piney hop character and a guava-like tartness. Refreshing, and probably he best Iíve had fom these guys (theyíve made some stinkers).

Bottle: Iím told this is bottle conditioned but I assume this is cask brew finished in the bottle rather than the a cask. Pours a cloudy golden ale in the flute with a solid puffy cap...great lacing. Nice soft natural carbonation. Aroma is unique for a Weizen this has a pungent bouquet of fruity esters mingled with PNW hops; exotic fruits-banana-citrus...light biscuit aroma. Soft mouth feel... biscuity, citrus resinous hopping, dry citrusy finish. Bright flavors but not the fruit basket the aroma promised...lacking spice phenols. I got a couple of these and I suspect as a bottle conditioned weiss it may take a couple more weeks to have all the flavors develop. Iíll sample it again.

On tap at Cíest What Spring Festival.Unfiltered grapefruit look. Good grapefruit aromas. WHeaty hoppy beer. Decent mouthfeel and taste, drinkability. Like the Imperial HefeWeiss, just a step down.

Special Project X bomber. Clear off-gold with abundant white puffy head. Aromas citrus and a bit of grass. Taste is pretty hoppy with grapefruit rind and lemon and a light green herbal character, and under this a light feel. Some ganga-like character, possibly Simcoe? Amarillo and Centennial. Lacking a bit of fruit and body (GL beers seem to go lean or heavy on malts.) Overall? Surprised this is not sweeter, like a Hefe (given the name) but thatís OK.

Bouteille de 660ml. Merci Patrick. Elle a une belle couleur blť, or. Le nez est de citron, ťpices et une belle dose de blť. La bouche est de houblon, mordante, agrťable. Une sorte de blonde ale bien houblonnťe avec du blť. Surprenante.
