COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep gold in colour with incredible aromas of citrus, tropical fruits and mango, My Bitter Wife is an IPA for the serious hop-heads out there. Full bodied, subtle malt notes with a pleasant and balanced bitterness obtained using some Simcoe, Columbus and Centennial hops, it finishes dry with a lingering hop presence that leaves you wanting more. My Bitter Wife will be sure to awaken your senses with each sip.

Bomber from the LCBO, from their "Tank Ten" series at 7.0% ABV. Pours a slightly hazy, golden-amber colour, with a creamy off-white head that has great retention. Soft hoppy nose with all of the great fresh typical IPA notes; grapefruit, grass, other citrus, spices, all with some sweet malts and warming alcohol. Nicely balanced mouthfeel between wet and mildly dry in the finish. The sharp bitterness in the finish, is still mild overall. Again, well-blended between the sweet malts and the fruity hops. Very well-done IPA, that is not over-the-top, but has all the character of one.

Pours a hazy amber with foamy off white head that’s very lacy. Aromas of floral hops, citrus and mango. Tastes strong of hops and very bitter that coats the mouth.

750 mL bottle. Pours amber with a thick white head, lots of soapy lacing. Big American hop nose, grapefruit, pine, wax, honeycomb and caramel malt notes. Full bodied and thick on the palate, sticky and syrupy. Malty sweet with a huge bitter backbone that goes on and on. A bit much on the bittering hops for me, but love the aroma.

2013/05/19 - Pours a translucent gold-amber color with a foamy off white head that's leaves a ton of lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, mango and peach an floral hops. Taste is grapefruit, mango, peach and pine. Citrus and tropical fruits up front with a piney/hoppy bitter aftertaste that lingers. Medium mouthfeel with medium carbonation and a drying finish. Very well balanced IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy gold colour, a foamy head that reduces to a thin layer with some of the nicest lacing I have seen! The aroma is like a citrus punch to the nose, huge grapefruit, mango and orange peel rind aroma notes. The taste is again, a kick to the teeth of tart grapefruit, pine resin and is ferociously bitter. If you like bitter IPA’s this one will knock your socks off. If you do not like bitter IPA’s, than beware, you are in for a TKO!

650mL bomber from my lickbow. I didn’t even realize the character on the label was a woman until I saw the smaller thumbnail on this site. Weird. Pours a mostly clear orange with a small fluffy beige head. Aroma is strikingly hoppy, like a combination of hop varieties I have no encountered before. Citrus rind, pineapple and peach, pretty awesome combo. Flavour has some orange esters and a mild malt body underneath some dry and puckering hops that blend very well. I love Great Lakes for their ability to create numerous IPA’s, all with gimmicky names and yet completely distinct from each other in terms of flavour. Fuck Carrie Nation.

Pour light orange slightly hazy with an initially foamy head that dissipates quickly to a light covering. Lots of lacing. Nose is grapefruit and fruity. Aromas of grapefruit, 5-alive, some mango and maybe a hint of cereal. Tastes are light sweet and high enough bitter. Body is fairly light with lively carbonation. Really nice beer.

650 mL bottle. A little hazy, but brilliant head. Pine and a little pineapple in the nose. Not too strong, but very appealing. The same in the mouth, in the reverse order. Bitterness is perfect, and good body for the style. Please mass produce this so that I can afford more!

The beer pours a very hazy golden-orange colour with a long lasting white head. The aroma is citrusy hops, some tropical fruit, and caramel and grains. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is a mix of tropical fruit and citrus with some sweet malt as well. Easy to see why this has been a favourite of the Toronto beer crowd for the last 3-4 years.

The kind of Ontario brew that makes even bitter old me smile. Maple pour with skinny finger cap that fades to subtle valley & river beds. A palate that grabs your boys, gives ’em a tug & twist. A keeper.
