On tap at Bar Volo. Clear golden colour with nice lace. Nice aroma, slightly vegetal flavour, but surprisingly candy sweet notes.

On tap at Volo. Pours a clear golden orange with modest-sized white head. Aroma has floral notes, sour fruit and modest spice. Taste is pleasantly yeasty with floral, tart apple/pear and spice notes. Finishes a little dry. Pleasant.

Maybe the pint I had had gone off, I’m not usually this far against the grain...Anyway, I got a horrifically bitter mess with dull yeast running the show - no citrus, no pepperiness, no real aroma, just aggression. Took forever to finish.

At Volo. Hazy amber colour in a wine glass. Aroma of Belgian yeast, clove, lemon zest, orange. Medium bodied. Very citric flavor with lemon, lime and orange rind.

On tap at Blue Monk in Buffalo, NY. Funny, I was wondering why I’d never heard of this Great Lakes beer before....guess it’s not the brewery I thought it was. No matter, this was quite good. Poured a somewhat clear gold with a nice big head. Very easy to drink - I drank it faster than I should’ve cause it was so good. Peppery, fizzy. Good mouthfeel.

[3766-20110622] Tap. Light creamy fruity yeast aroma. Hazy, medium orange body with a quick foamy off-white head. Grainy grapefruit peel flavour has a nice bitter citrus aftertaste. Medium body is a little bitter. Tasty, odd at first. (6/3/7/4/14) 3.4

Draught at Bryden’s. Pours a cloudy copper-gold with a small diminishing bubbly white head. Aroma has lots of herbs and spices (cloves, pepper and more), a hint of alcohol, yeast, wheat and a good amount of fruit. Flavour’s nice and spicy, with cloves, pepper and more, along with yeast, herbs, a hint of alcohol and short bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. Really refreshing and easy to drink, it’s perfect for nice Summer days and I hope to have many more.

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2012 Rerate: Tap at The Only Cafe. Very pale straw colour with a tight white head. The nose is quite tropical and spicy. Bright clove and white pepper along with a touch of light tartness. Very bright and fresh with a bit of light apple and pear. Prickly carbonation and quite lean-bodied. Good stuff in here. Pale golden yellow pour with a thin white head. The aroma is lightly spicy with a kiss of lemon citrus. It almost has a touch of coriander there, although I suspect it’s just the yeast. Light-bodied and a little bit of soft white pepper. The yeast doesn’t really have the sort of individuality I’d prefer to see, but it’s still a decent brew. 6 4 6 3 12
