Overheard: "It smells like fresh rancid seaweed?" "It smells like Chinatown! But it tastes like awesome."

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2011 2010-10-03. Very lightly hazy golden orange, small nice off-white head and lace. 3+ Flavour is pleasantly peppery throughout. Light fruit and funk, mild lingering pepper. 7+ Spicy peppery aroma is quite nice, mild saison suite of aromas. 7+ Very smooth average plus palate is pleasantly carbonated. Rather nice. On tap at Volo, Toronto
2011-09-16. Hazy pastel dark yellow, small frothy white head. 3+ Mild aroma, muted spice grows as you go. Flavour is similar, with a cumulative spice character that grows as you go on, bit floral. 7+ Average palate. Pretty decent. This is a nice beer, one of my two picks of the night, but I was not really in the mood for this spice profile. 7/4/7/3/15 Cask, Barrel Bragging Rights #7, Great Lakes (Lackey) and Chris Grimley, Monk’s Table, Toronto

Enjoyed on tap at Bar Volo. The aroma is yeasty, a little funky with some sharp spices melange. Orange coloured body with a little lacing. An average mouthfeel. A nice saison, somewhat spicy not too chile hot, peppery, other spices. Bold taste. Feels like 6-7% ab.v. Good drinkability.
