In our pursuit to bring you the most flavourful and unique beers possible, we are proud to release this tasty autumn ale. Handcrafted with an assortment of specialty malts and hops, we added a generous amount of pumpkin directly into the brew. Combine this with hints of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and allspice, and you’ve got a beer that you won’t soon forget. Rich, satisfying and slightly spicy, our seasonal ale goes perfectly with your favourite dessert or traditional feast. But like fall, Pumpkin Ale comes but once a year!

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2009 2009-09-10. No notes; The spices seem much more assertive than in previous years, one in particular stands out but I don’t know what it is, perhaps nutmeg? Pumpkin is noticeable but defers to the spices. Supporting beer is a touch light, leaving the spice as the dominant character. Pleasant. Cask at the brewery

Sept 2007. Cest What Festival of Small Breweries. Orange body with a short lived head. Muted aroma in the first sample is bigger in the second. Fruity quasi-pumpkin in the nose. Flavour has similar fruitiness with more obviously identified pumpkin, moderate spices with clove sticking out a bit more than the rest, especially after it is confirmed to be there. Smooth average to medium palate ( 6+). I found this to be more pumpkiny but a little less interesting than Grand Rivers offering. A very nice beer though, I look forward to seeing it every year. 7/3/7/3+//14-15

Draught sample at C’est What’s 2007 Fall Festival of Craft Breweries. Light, clear amber with a pure white head. Aroma is great - sweet malt, pumpkin, and a good balance of spice. Body is a touch thin, but not bad. Flavour follows the aroma - nice spice notes (cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cloves) and some caramel malts, a hint of pumpkin, and enough hops in the finish to tie it together. Nicely done.

650ml bottle from the LCBO. Orange pour, small white head. Good aroma - spice, some pumpkin. Good taste - lots of pumpkin, even some alcohol surprisingly, and certainly some hops. Not all that spicy. Very drinkable. Good stuff guys, another one-off winner!

An interesting beer. Pour is golden orangey with a medium sized head with no lacing. Aroma is spicy with hitns of allspice, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, etc. Taste is slightly pumpkin with hints of spice. Overall, pretty good, but could have more Pumpkin taste.

Tasted Oct 2010. 650 ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours amber in colour, with nice frothy off-white head. Aroma and taste are classic pumpkin spice, with a hint of pumpkin flesh. Pretty good one!

Bomber purchased at the LCBO in Dundas. Pours a very light copper orange with a nice fluffy white head. Aroma is spicy and of pumpkin and something else, nutmeg possibly. Taste is spicy and of pumpkin, hop bitter. Quite light in the mouth feel. There is an after taste that I find with all Great Lakes Brewing brews that is very tart. Almost mouth puckering.

Bouteille 750 ml. 5.5%. Couleur ambrée assez pâle, mousse blanche. Arôme de gingembre et épices. En bouche, malt, épices mais moins que certaines bières la citrouille. Muscade, un peu de cannelle. Finale malt et fin d’épices. Bel équilibre.

650 ml bottle. Pours a hazy light brown with an off white head. Aroma is pumpkin and subtle spice cloves. Flavour is baked pumpkin pie - excellent. Finish is slightly sweet and spice. Well done pumpkin ale.

650ml Flasche.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2014 Pours a clear light copper, with a fair amount of carbonation. Moderate head settling down quickly, leaving medium lacing. On the nose it is cloves, nutmeg, a bit of banana esters, and black pepper. Medium mouth feel. Tastes are cinnamon, nutmeg, some wheat beer characteristics, bananas, general spice box, and surprisingly very little true pumpkin taste. Overall it tastes more like a wheat beer meets a peppery saison, than it does a pumpkin ale, but it is certainly an enjoyable beverage.
