COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hints of caramel, nuts and toasted malt result in a fully flavoured, yet deceptively smooth lager. A well balanced body makes it a perfect year-round beer. Red Leaf is an ideal match with burgers, rubs, sandwiches and stews.

[can] Chocolatey toast aroma thatís a bit labery and with medium, spicy hops and faint fruit notes. Dark amber topped by lasting, lacy off-white. Sweet, though weak, caramel flavour that ends dry and with some toastiness. Detectable hops. Very clean with medium carbonation and a light body.

500 ml can from LCBO. Pours a red copper with medium carbonation. Aroma of bread and something I canít quite identify but reminiscent of "sticky buns" or candy. On the tongue no hop bitterness to speak of, and a sticky mouthfeel. Finish is sweet, sticky, candy like. I donít see it mentioned on the label, but it almost seems to have some sort of maple to it. All in all its not an objectionable beer but not one I would want more than one of.

473ml can. Pours a light ochre-brown body (Lovibond 17/18) with minuscule head. Very lacy. Barely any scent - some caramel and bready presence. The first time you take a swig, it's not the taste that leaves an impression but the watery, smooth palate. The taste is nicely balanced between an initial slightly bitter tone and the sweeter caramel aftertaste. Seems somewhat underwhelming - could have used a more buttery, cookie flavour in the mix. Seems lacking to me. It's an ok beer though.

I love Great Lakeís ales, but this lager wasnít that good at all. Iíve bought it a few times because Iíve gotten it mixed up with Crazy Canuck, too... should stop going to the LCBO drunk. Tastes like liquid copper.

Cannette 473 ml. 5%. Couleur rousse, mousse beige. ArŰme de malt lťger. En bouche, malt, caramel, comme les rousses commerciales mais un petit peu plus de goŻt. Finale sans histoire. Bonne.

Sampled at Great Lakes Brewery. Clear ruby colour. Sweet and metallic aroma, with a slightly creamy and metallic taste. Not really for me, but I donít think Iím this beerís target market.

Not bad. Up front hits of sweet with some very minor bitter to balance it out. Inoffensive overall.

Can purchased at the LCBO in Dundas Ontario. Pour is a clear brown with a reddish hue. Initial huge white head that recedes to nothing but a small ring, leaves a splatter of lacing. Aroma is grainy, almost corn and a little yeast. Tastes clean, crisp and light. Not tasting much, a little grain and bitterness. Not their best brew, thats for sure.

Wow, a gold medal winner! Forgive me if Iím suspicious of competition winners... there are just too many competitions around to "award" medals for any kind of real incentive to care aboot them. But this one pours with a copper-brown body, some modest carbonation and a well-behaved head on top. Very soft malt aroma. Flavour is a lot of malt and little else - no complexity. Very drinkable though, in a forgettable kind of way. Tasted at 6.8 celsius, but even if warmed up you wouldnít find any complexity. An average beer for a boring day.
