3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Johnsense (467) - - JUN 12, 2013
Far better than what i had on tap. This hazy gold/orange ipa has a fairly strong hoppy nose, somewhere between floral and piney. Very bitter, resin being the first thing that comes to mind. lots of pine, citrus fruit rinds, lime up front, grainy, and alcohol is still detectable but actually works here. Palate wrecking territory.

473 ml can from the brewery. Hazed golden orange with a lasting white head that lingers and laces. It isn’t 2006 anymore.

Amber ish colour, nice foam. Nose is pine and citrus. Cloudy. Flavour is big hops all around but actually a decent malt base as well to hold it up. Great job Lackey! B

That’s what I’m talking about. Pour from tall can picked up at brewery on rainy Toronto afternoon. Pours sunburst honey with a rich cap that peaks & valleys. Tropical & citrus. Full palate. Each sip makes me happy.

On tap at 10th Annual BBQ (at brewery) and 473 ml can from brewery. Pours a modestly cloudy copper colour with good-sized, lasting eggshell head. Aroma is resiny pine and citrus with gentle caramel. Flavour very resiny/piney with zesty grapefruit and other tropical fruits as well as some sweet, subtle caramel malt. Puckeringly bitter finish. Alcohol is subtle for the ABV. Slightly sticky moutfeel. Impressive.

June 21, 2011 - on draught at Bryden’s. Very hazy coppery amber with a solid beige creamy/drizzly head, lovely thick lace remnants. Awesome aroma - pungent punch-you-in-the-nuts catnip/resin hoppy aroma, solid juicy background malt, slight tropical fruit sweetness - mostly about the catty bitterness; a bit strong with the alkeehaul. Taste- big, alcohol yes, but not overpowering, the malt is quite fresh and grainy, pungent bitterness going on, but it’s restrained - this is imperial, but not blow your socks off boozy - the balance really is there. Somewhat light bodied, mild carbonation, quite astringent - an assault of bitterness in the finish, borderline boozy, but stays on the happy side of that line - I loved it, lets see this again, GL.

Strong citrussy aroma, like freshly peeled tangerines. Very bitter, hoppy taste. You really need to love hops to have any chance of enjoying this. I loved it!!:-)

Pour hazy golden orange creamy white head. Aroma hop destroyer super citrusy, resiny hops, pine, grapefruit, stone fruits. Taste very hoppy and terrific great bitterness, with a nice malt structure to support it with mild warming booziness, a great hop bomb. MF medium chewy sticky body. Ridiculously good well done.

Draught at Bryden’s. Pours a slightly hazy orange-amber with a small diminishing frothy of-white. Aroma is fucking amazing, just a big blast of tropical fruit, citrus and resiny hops. Awesome hoppy and fruity flavour -- a fruit and hop explosion, just like I like it, with sweet malt in the back and a nice long resiny bitter finish. Practically no sign of the alcohol. Medium to full bodied. Simply amazing, I loved it!

[3707-20110430] Tap. Grainy resin hop hints in the aroma with a little peat. Clear, orange amber body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Spicy tree bark resiny hops flavour is bitterly hoppy. Full body is quite bitter. Crazy bitterness trumps all! (7-/4+/7/4/15) 3.7
