3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask at Castro’s Lounge. Hazy amber-orange pour. The nose is softly spicy with some clove, vanilla and a distinct pumpkin flavour. Coriander and a little bit of soft spiciness. Medium bodied and I’m not sure the cask really works here. There is a fairly assertive bitterness here that kind of works. Lingering spiciness. Okay.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
650ml bottle. Clear, orangey golden colour with huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Sweet-ish, fruit and vegetable aroma, disguised hints of pumpkin intermingle with typical Saison yeasty notes, spicy hints of sweet mustard, mustard seed, tarragon, a minimally soapy touch of bath salt. Taste is less complex, a soapy bath salt-pumpkin mixture predominates; slightly too lively carbonation covers the tongue and prohibits a more intensive taste experience, sadly erasing the subtleties of the aroma. Ambitious conception, not fully succeeded.

Botella. Calabaza, levaduras y un toque dulce en aroma. Comienza ácida y dulce dejando paso a un intenso y matizado sabor a calabaza con final dulce y seco

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Poured a deep orangey color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of cinnamon, cloves and light pumpkin notes with some rustic malt notes and some dry ester. Taste is also quite the mix with some heavy notes of cinnamon with some cloves, some rustic malt and the dry ester notes from the yeast. Body is quite full with great carbonation. Great mix between the spices associated to the pumpkin while retaining loads of the characteristics associated to the saison.

On tap at Bar Hop.
Hazy orange pour, with a white, frothy head. LIghtly peppery, with some great spice. Lively carb, solid mouth feel. The finish is spicy, a touch fruity, and some light grassy hops. interesting.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Another one of their Tank Ten series that offers a pumpkin beer with a nice twist on the yeast. A beautiful painted bottle. Pours a hazy golden colour with a white foamy head, decent retention and soapy lace. Nice spicy nose with the pumpkin in the background and the yeast giving out banana notes and light bubblegum. Smooth, and lightly creamy mouthfeel. Again, some nice spices in the taste blending well with the Belgian Ale yeast. Not too much pumpkin, but quite a nice offering overall worth trying.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber from the LCBO. Clear pale yellow with a slightly off white head. Very fresh and light blend of yeast, ginger, cloves, farmhouse, nutmeg, very light hops. Moderate carbonation and lightish body, becomes quite dry, slightly bitter at first then becomes more so. Very tasty offering.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
It pours with a frothy, white head atop an amber-coloured body and has an aroma of spice, banana, pumpkin and hops. It has a decent hoppiness and the saison yeast gives it the refreshing farmhouse ale character you’d expect and should appreciate. There’s little sweetness, but it has a warm finish. This 5.2-per cent alcohol ale is made with water, malted barley, hops and yeast, so it isn’t a true pumpkin beer like its name and label imply. Availability is limited, so act now if you want to try it. And you should.
