4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Lubiere (8247) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 3, 2013
A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, a superb soy sauce and chocolate with bourbon notes, musty and complex. In mouth, a sweet bitter chocolate with tobacco, soy, musty bourbon barrel, very nice. Cask at Cask Days 2012.

[4574-20120623] Tap. Sweet coffee roasted malt booze aroma. Black body with a quick foamy dark brown head. Boozy sweet roasted malt and lots of dry coffee grinds in the flavour. Full body. Tasty! (8/3+/7/3/15) 3.6

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 HogTownHarry (5653) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - NOV 2, 2012
October 27, 2012 - 8th Annual Volo Cask Days. 100 IBUs. It’s black, with a smallish frothy light brown head. Smells kind of bourbony - vanilla, oak, some alcohol, deep roast but I sure don’t get 100 IBU level bitterness at all - nice though, decently balanced and the bourbon doesn’t seem to be threatening to take over the planet like some (8-). Taste follows, again balanced, a little more alcohol presence, still not hugely bitter, but there is a earthiness that I quite like, big chocolate, light coffee deep roastiness. Oily, slick, reasonably thick, mildly carbonated with a longish malty increasingly bitter finish. A fine BA impy stout that doesn’t beat you over the head with anything, just takes you for a smooth drinkable ride.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 jercraigs (6477) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 1, 2012
2012-06-23. Blac body with a nice tan head. Aroma has a fair bit of bourbon, mild dark malt foundation. 7+ Super rich dark malt core, quite sweet but the modest roast and bourbon barrel character add complexity and a modest bitterness to keep it from becoming cloying. Bourbon is the dominant character but the rich sweet base can handle it well. 8+ Subtle chocolate cocoa accents. Smooth full bodied palate. Very nice stuff. At Session Festival 2012, Toronto
