COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Designed by NASA scientists, THRUST! is structured to attack you senses. First, it burns into your visual cortex the image of a beer with a deep copper hue topped with a rocky white head. Soon your olfactory bulb should be awoken as the massive dry-hop propels a penetrating aroma of grapefruit, mango, grape, stone fruit and lychee hurling into your forebrain. Resisting the impulse to keep smelling the beer, you pound back a gulp which illicits a poking and prodding of tropical fruit and resin on your taste buds. Your pallet soon succumbs as THRUST! penetrates and perforates, eventually becoming your new reality.

Can from the brewery. Hazy peach-orange with a creamy white head. Initially smells like a big olí Christmas tree, before some citrus and mango notes start to come through. Flavour follows a similar pattern - big and aggressive hops that bring a ton of pine and spruce to start, followed by grapefruit, lychee, pineapple and mango as it warms. Malt is second banana here for sure, but adds enough biscuity sweetness to provide a vague semblance of balance. Mostly, though, itís a hop bomb - and a very good one, if thatís what youíre after.

An excellent choice from the guest taps at HBH in Newmarket. Got the grapefruit but didnít notice all the other individual qualities others mention. Tasted very nice.

A good IPA, on tap at bar Hop. Grapefruit colour, grapefruit aroma. Nicely balanced and very drinkable. Above average mouthfeel.

A hazed golden ipa with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light lemon notes, and beautiful catty and floral hops, citrus, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity biscuit malt with tropical fruits, papaya, citrus, very nice and complex. On tap at Arrow and Loon.

Orange/gold pour, decent sized white head. Hoppy, piney aroma, a bit catty. Dank pine hops, resin, catty, citrus zest. Slight malty backbone. Medium body.

On tap at Bar Hop, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out loads of piney hops, balanced by just enough malt. Flavour is the same, bringing out shitloads of piney hoppy goodness. The malt backing is thin, but providing just enough counterbalance. A hoploverís dream.

473 ml can from brewery. Pours a hazy orange colour with average-sized slightly off-white head that leaves some lace. Aroma is very hoppy to the point of cattiness with tons of citrus and pine resin. Flavour has big grapefruit zest, mango and pine with some hints of spiciness. Quite bitter in the finish but ridiculously easy to drink. Rock solid IPA.

On tap at Bar Hop (Toronto). Pale copper with an off white head. Mild citrus hops, some peach, faint malt presence and lemon zest. Mild carbonation and moderate body, starts off dry and then becomes parching, a nice bitterness - enjoyable.

(On tap at Brydenís, Mar 9 2014) Pours a hazy medium orange, average white bubbly head, no lace. Aroma bright and fruity, has a real southern hemisphere hop character. Grapefruit, tropical fruit, kiwi (?), smells like a nice fresh home-made fruit salad to me. Slight sweet pale malt in support. Flavour really follows the aroma, leading with a ton of fruit and just enough malt for sweetness. The beer dries down in the middle and finishes quite dry but not particularly bitter, quite refreshing. Body fairly average, slightly high carb. Very fruit-forward IPA, super combo of hops. The bright fruit and dry finish would make a great spring-time beer, and in an indirect way remind me of a crisp and fruity white wine. Delicious.

Ok - I have reading this forum for a couple of years without contributing. GLB Thrust is a great beer. Aroma- burnt sugar bubblegum notes Taste- smooth, bitter and sweet at the same time. I suppose I should say notes of lemon or something like that but I canít ... just beautifully balance- I could drink all day Thrust another of long line of great GLB (Etobicoke) pale ales..Karma Citra, Johny Simcoe, My Bitter Wife..the list goes on and on Bellwoods and GLB- If you live in Toronto thats all you need to know (although Nickelbrook, Flying Monkeys and Amdersdam can put out some ineresting batches too!!)
