UPDATED: JAN 30, 2003 I was afraid this beer was named for the sensation on the way back out, but that's not the case at all. Hops that jerk your head around, Barq's wishes it had this bite!

Had one of these on tap today at the Old Bag of Nails in Upper Arlington. This brew
pours a clear ruddy red-orange. The large off-white creamy head has good lacing. The
clean and floral nose is predominately grapefruit citrus as one would expect of an APA,
with hints of herbs and spices, and some pine. The crisp and light flavor is one that would
make hop-heads everywhere rejoice with a sweet acidic citrus middle and a bold long
bitter finish. The texture is soft, oily and dry, with a medium body and a clean and dry
finish. Great brew, but Iíd take an Alpha King over this.

Excellent! In usual pale ale fashion, this beer exhibits lots of hops balanced with a some degree of maltiness.

bronzed carrotty orange, like a new pair of redwing steeltoes, a head that billowed like smoke from the burning cuyahoga--for a minute anyway. sorry to bring up something so plebeian as cost, but at 8.50 a six, it had better taste great AND do some cleaning up afterwards, which it might be capable of-- owing to a rich scent reminescent of pinesol. make that: a forest in coloradoís san juan mountains, that sounds more palatable. itís quite dry, light of effervescence, new penny on the tongue bitter, smooth, and there is just a tasty skeletal framework of malt to lift the cascades up well above the riverís conflagration--and the blazing ruin of my budget, for buying beers this pricey!

Dark ruby with creamy head. Huge flowery citrusy hop aroma. Rather dry, nicely malty, bitterish finish, but it actually feels surprisingly mild. Extremely hop aromatic and very drinkable. Thanks PsychProf for sending me this!

I have tried and tried to taste what others taste in this beer and I just donít get it. I always get the flavor of chewing grass, and not that good golf course grass, but the stuff that grows up around the telephone poles in the city. I love most everything GLB does, and Iíd recommend trying this for yourself, but have a palate cleanser handy just in case.

copper color. citrusy hops. itís got some snap, crackle and pop! pretty hoppy for a regular pale ale - i like that - itís bold. Looks a little thin in the glass, but it actually tasted kind of thick.

UPDATED: SEP 19, 2007 Since this has the best name ever for a beer, I was prepared to be disappointed. Not so. Nice balance here.

It Burns It Burns! Seriously tho, this is not the worst beer i have had from th Cleverland area. Not great, not rotten either. A decent micro but iíd rather have a peteís winter or similar ale. Not match for Bass.
