It has an amber color with excellent clarity. Its head is foamy and white in color. It builds up big and thick before settling back down to a thin cap that leaves behind rings of lace on the glass. The aroma is full of floral and piney hops over sweet bready malts. Hop bitterness has a bold presence from the start to the finish. Bready malts are just strong enough to support and add some balance to the crisp citrus and piney hops. The finish has a slow bitter hops fade. Carbonation is pleasant with a light and smooth mouth feel in the medium body.

Heavier on the malt than you expect in an ipa, but the bottle actually describes it as an ’american pale ale.’ BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA

This stuff is epic. It poured a darker amber, with no head(thanks to the bartender though) It was hoppy, citrusy, and very well balanced. I wouldn’t say it’s on par with Two Hearted, but I may be a bit biased, due to the fact that I’m from Mchigan, and this beer is from Ohio, you do the math:) But in all seriousness, this beer is superb, and Great Lakes is definitely an amazing brewer. Cheers!

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 29, 2008 Pours a nice hazy amber with about a finger’s worth of nice white head. Aroma is of some good citrus hops. Pine is there, but a little towards the back. Flavor is very crisp and smooth, almost toasty. Very tasty. Not bitter on the back end at all which is nice. Easy drinker. Nice beer. alobar (1015), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 27, 2008 Good stuff! Bottle. Imprtessive aroma of hops, citrus and pine. Aggressive taste with floral character and hops. A bit thicker body than usual for this type of beer. gonzo46and2 (108), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 23, 2008 A nice clear amber color with a small white head that has little retention.
Smells refreshing, citrus flowers and hops.
Has a beautiful taste, one of the few pale ales that I care for as I’m generally not a fan.
A little thicker in the mouth than most pal’e, leaves the mouth with a slight dryness.
