fiver29 (703), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Apr 19, 2008 Bottle pours a darker gold color with a thin tan head. Head dissipates quickly. Has a nice hop aroma to it that smells like subtle pine. A hint of sweetness is apparent also. Has a light mouthfeel that leads to a good sweet caramel like taste upfront with a citrus finish. Nice brew. msante79 (784), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA Apr 17, 2008 Pours deep golding, Aroma is hops, citrus and caramel. Flavor is hops, malt, and citrus. Decent.
Sparky27 (1567), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Apr 17, 2008 Bottle courtesy of fiver29. Pours a crystal clear dark golden color with a two finger head that disappeared quickly. Nose is pretty mild. Malt with some pine and citrus. Palate is mild also with some malt and a slightly bitter resin aftertaste. Best by date is 5/25/08, so maybe some of the hop bite has left. An ok brew that I’m grateful for the chance to try – thanks John! dolemite77 (184), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Apr 15, 2008 Pours golden, with a nice light head that lasts for most of the beer. Aroma is piney cascade hops. Flavor is of fresh hops and a thin malt. A very good craft beer, but just nothing I’m too excited with. Of course I rated it right after Bells Hopslam, so probably not a good way to do it. Worth a purchase thought to be sure. bierkoning (5989), La Tropica, Netherlands Apr 10, 2008 Bottled. Orange color. Flowery hops, red berries and grapefruit in the aroma. Firm oily, piney, flowery perfumed hopbitter flavor with red berries. Plastic and leather in the aftertaste. esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Mar 30, 2008 Pale yellow with thin off-white head. Aromas of pine & citrus. Tastes of grapefruit & has a medium bitter hop burst finish, just a touch dry. Decent beer. JCB (1716), Durham, North Carolina, USA Mar 25, 2008 On tap at the Bag of Nails, Delaware, Ohio. Nice looking amber beer, ample head and a fairly lively carbonation. There’s a crisp floral nose to this one - not much spice or citrus, but it’s appealing nonetheless. It drinks like more of a highly hopped amber to me, with big chewy malts dominating the mouthfeel and the flavor. All in all, nice and enjoyable. SoBloHero (56), Buffalo, New York, USA Mar 5, 2008 A nice IPA with a different flavor than some other IPAs. It isnt as strong as some other beers in the same category, but overall very enjoyable and a nice introduction to the category.
