DragonsHead (137), Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 10, 2008 Very good, highly hopped pale ale. I didn’t feel much of the hops from the aroma, not much of a dry hop. The bittering is strong, with a nice, highly hopped flavor. This pale ale hits home, with the great cascade citrus I love in a pale ale. gpekar (221), Maryland, USA Feb 4, 2008 Bottle from a Great Lakes variety pack. Poured a clear golden amber color with very little head. A mild hop aroma and a nice crisp taste. There was a mild hop bite that rolled into a slightly bitter finish. An overall nice beer for the money jayokel (2), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA does not count Jan 26, 2008 My favorite pale ale. Burning River has a nice color and a hoppy aroma, with a hint of citrus. It has just enough bitterness without being overwhelming. Its good in the bottle, but even better at the Great Lakes brewery. beerlord (215), tonawanda, New York, USA Jan 21, 2008 Hoppy/orange bouquet from a deep amber body with a nice white head. Hoppy flavor and bitterness up front with some semisweet flavors in the back along with some toatsed grain flavors, medium mouth feel. GMUcrew7 (353), Mason, Ohio, USA Jan 19, 2008 Pours nice burnt orange color with off white head. Aroma is hoppy, fruit and pines dominate. Flavor is good, starts out sweet ends bitter, but a very good balance between the two. Very good IPA, but there are some more memorable ones out there. thechandler (268), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA Jan 18, 2008 Pours a transparent copper. A little darker than I’d imagined. 2 finger head. Aroma is rich, full and fruity. Citrus and Bubblegum. Hint of Banana. Taste is still fruity, but more hop dominated. Subtle roasty malt flavors. Mostly a mouthful of hops though. Its not a bad thing, but you have to enjoy the bitter. I don’t think I’m quite up to that point just yet. idbowman82 (62), Painesville, Ohio, USA Jan 17, 2008 A very good Pale Ale. Clear, crisp orange/amber color, thinnish head which is not-quite-white. The aroma is that of sweet citrus (orange/grapefruit, maybe) and a hint of malt. Finishes with the right sweet/bitter balance (the bitter lingers a bit longer).
All in all, a good go-to IPA if its readily available in your area. alfredotomato (3), Lexington, Kentucky, USA does not count Jan 16, 2008 Nice head, good aroma, very easy to drink. A touch of citrus, maybe grapefruit, but not as heavy as Two Hearted Ale. Just the right amount of bitterness. A good beer to keep around. It’s not too demanding, and that is a good thing.
