The aroma consists of some citrusy hops along with the subtle smell of wet brown paper bags. Crisp, thin body. Pretty one-sided taste-wise - some grainy maltiness comes out as it warms a little. Finishes biscuity and dry with a lingering bitterness. Not exactly an awful IPA, there are just plenty out there that are much better. OldGrowth (1408), North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 13, 2008 bottle, from trade with a great man in the metro Cinncinati area. Good aroma, sweet, biscuity, orange, wet tea leaves. Classic clean orange copper color, great head & lacing. Bitter sour flavor. not unlike aroma though citrus went a little more grapefruity and sweetness gave way to a sour earthy taste. Thin body, lite creamy smooth mouthfeel, bitter finish. Easy to drink, pale ale / ipa. Nice little changes between aroma & flavor I thought. Man I prbably had this several years back when wife and I were in Cleveland, but my only notes are checkmarks on a manu as it was before I rated beers. dalekliz (546), San Diego, California, USA

Has a mild hop and sweet malt aroma.
Light -medium body with a very smooth mouthfeel.
Nice sweet malt grainy taste here with a subtle hop essence.
Finishes with a nice mild bitterness.
Another tasty and highly drinkable pale ale, as they all should be. July 2005 madcow75 (425), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 7, 2008 Bottle. Pours orange/amber with a thin white head. Nice citrus aroma with some sweet malt in the background. Taste citrus, grapefruit, mango and some earthy malt. Good bitter finish, a little light on the palate. I’ve always considered this an APA. This was one of the ones that started me down this path, always a classic and finally I am rating this on National Championship day, GO BUCKS!! hawkinmi (10), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Great Pale Ale. Borders on the pale ale scale. I know the name says pale, but the IBU’s, nose and taste all say IPA. One of my go to beers. GTown (126), New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 28, 2007 Citrus dominates the aroma. Excellent malt and hop balances. Not too over the top with hop presence. Outstanding IPA. BigDaddyBlues (39), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 27, 2007 I know I was drinking an IPA. It is not a bad beer at all but there is nothing special about it. There are other more readily available IPAs in the area that are better.
