Zinister (1199), Houston, Texas, USA Nov 19, 2007 First Official Houston Tasting. Thanks to Kryptic for this beer. Pours a very honey like color with a very, very thin white head. Looks more like a sauternes than an IPA. Aroma is malt, honey and hops. Flavor is malt mixed with some musty hops that give off a good bitterness. Solid beer. Thanks kryptic! crazyvin (1246), New York, USA Nov 14, 2007 typical but decent IPA. Orange-amber body white head. aroma a mix of citrus, pine and some soap like qualities. Flavor was not too hoppy and well balanced out by a nice orange citrus note. Smooth in the finish. NicerInPerson (337), North of Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Nov 13, 2007 Updated: Nov 14, 2007The aroma wa s citrus coupled with caramel malt an estery presence of grapefruit and a grassy lightly resinous hops presence. The aroma was bready and nicely malty. The beer arrived clear golden amber with a white well lasting head which laced the glass. The flavor was nicely bittered wth grapefruit and citrus and a caramel malt presence which had a grassy hop flavor. The finish was dry with lasting grassy and citrusy bittering and flavor into the afteraste. The body was medium with a nice level of cabonation and a creamy mouthfeel. A really great APA. Deeply malty and assertively hopped. Pint at Great Lakes. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA Nov 5, 2007 10-11-07 bottle. Clear amber with fantastic fluffy head. Nice lacing on the glass. Nice hoppy aroma with hints of soap in there as well. Upon entering this, I realize it is labeled as an IPA and not a Pale, and I made several notes about how the palate and flavor were more similar to that of an IPA than a Pale. But, that would be redundant now. beerbill (1919), Laurel, New York, USA Nov 1, 2007 12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with DeuceDeuceOU. Pours a clear gold with a moderate white head that was gone before mid-glass. Light earthy aroma with some pine resin notes as well. The flavor was less earthy and a bit more of the pine. Light malt also detected. An ok beer, but not very memorable.
