Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 11, 2007 12oz bottle courtesy of Crizay. Thank you sir. Pours a resplendent glowing orange boy with a small, sudsy white head that has tremendous lasting power. Once the head does go away sheets of lacing decorate the side of the glass. On the nose we have a blast of citrus, hops, floral notes and a very muted note of sweet malts. Tons of hops in the flavor, along with grapefruit, oranges, malt and pine. Tastes like sucking on a pinecone, or what I would imagine that tastes like. Medium bodied, astringent, oily mouthfeel. Finish is bitter, dry, medium length. The oily feeling stays around for quite a while on the tongue after drinking each sip. Well done. bushwik (11), chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 9, 2007 This is one of my favorite ’American’ Pale Ale...This is actually not really an IPA, its an American style Pale Ale, which differs in more ways then one. Tasty beer you will not be disappointed, very drinkable dankman38 (228), Somewhere in, Ohio, USA Aug 8, 2007 Pretty hoppy IPA, This beer makes a pretty good daily drinker for someone who is into this style, where as it is nothing too special it is very far from being mediocre. TheBeerGod (3143), Newport News, Virginia, USA Aug 8, 2007 Bottle courtesy of my friend Alan. Amber pour. Aroma is hoppy and floral. Burnt or toasty caramel and dry malts. Light fruit as well. Taste is hops, more caramel, citrus fruits and faint toffee. Body is light-medium to medium. Moderate carbonation. Little heavy on the stomach due to the heat. We’ll go back to the wheat beers shortly... Finishes with more flowery hops, toasty caramel, sweet malts and citrus. Not bad! RedXIII (127), Powell, Ohio, USA Jul 30, 2007 Solid pale ale- definately a session beer; very easy to drink and enjoy. Dark tinted yellowish-orange color, minimal white head. Aroma is faint but pleasant. A smooth palate finishes off a very pine-like taste with tingley (but not a lot) of hop flavor. Pretty cut and dry pale ale, but very well done. One of my everyday favorites from a local distributor. caesar (3020), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands Jul 22, 2007 Clear amber color, short head. Aroma of cascade hop, some hint of pine, caramel malt. Nice bitter taste, bit malty. Quite straightforward, but decent IPA. jmikolich (405), Athens, Ohio, USA Jul 19, 2007 @ GLBC Beer School, This is a pretty darn hoppy Pale ale, and i love it. assertive Cascades flood in immediately, definitely reminds me of 3F Alpha King, a delicious Pale Ale, not an IPA by any stretch Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Jul 18, 2007 Bonus bottle from local trade with mreusch. Pours a sparkling amber with a tight, frothy, off-white head. The aroma is of earthy/citrus hops and sweet caramel malts. Light to medium-bodied and slick with a nice dry/bitter finish. Very well balanced, the flavor follows the nose perfectly. This is one of the best pales that I’ve sampled to date and will definitely be one that I grab the next time I travel east. Thanks again for sharing this one, Matt.
