Great Lakes Burning River Pale Ale

My favorite pale ale. It has surpassed Deschutes Mirror Pond and is now my #1 Domestic Pale Ale. One of the few Gold Medalists in Cleveland. Now if only the Tribe can get to the World Series again!!

Pours a damn near perfectly clear amber with a nice sized head that faded a little quick. Smell is a little lighter than expected. Taste is very solid and smooth for an PA. Drinkability? Would I buy more, yes. Can I drink a ton in a row #### yes.

A sweet to bitter aroma with almost no hint of hops; almost. In the mouth it tasted very citrusy and a bit floral. Finish is that of mostly sweet hops and hints of some kind of citrus possibly orange. I can withstand more of this.

Had on tap at local Irish Pub. Kind of citrusy up front and a lot more hops then I was expecting. Miraculously, I actually enjoyed the hops in this one!

Slight hops and some swet malt in the aroma.Pours a light copper with a thin white head.Pretty nice amount of hops for a pale.Medium mouthfeel with a sweet malt finish.

Pours a flat amber, smells of earthy, tree hops. Light hop flavor is nice for a pale ale where you can get that hop bite sometimes. There are underlaying malt tones and it finishes smooth.

Amber body, off white head, with some lacing. Citrus, sour-floral qualities, and caramel malts, with underlaying cream and cherry notes in the aroma. Soft caramelly malts with cream notes melt into a balencing hop bitteness that expldes at the swallow. Lingering spicy pine finish. Just wonderful, what I expect from this brewery.

Another great beer from Great Lakes. If I am not looking for a Dortmunder (Theirs is excellent) and am in the mood for a Pale Ale I always pick this up. I find it inconsistently in Chicago so usually if I see it I will pick some up to have on hand.
