TheEpeeist (1429), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 21, 2006 12 oz bottle. Enjoy by 4/06. Clear copper. White head recedes leaving spots of lace. Nose of bready grapefruit, sweet apple and mandarins. Taste of orange pulp, apple peels and Lucky Charms. Medium carb finishes dry with residual resin. For me lacks the crispness and pronounced citrus of an APA. Too old already? TheOrange (405), Kent, Ohio, USA Jul 15, 2006 Nice rich amber color with a thin whitish head. Aroma is hoppy with a toch of citrus. Nice hoppy nose, some nice mellow malt there too. The finish is pretty clean with a taste of pine. Pretty Good Beer. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 13, 2006 Big thanks to Secret Santa for this one. Pours hazy copper with 2-finger off-white head. Aroma of big hops, citrus, and tropical fruit, plus a lot of bready malt. The flavor is hoppy, citric, with some caramel malts, tangerine, pineapple, and tannins. Medium to dense palate with a nice complexity and outstanding balance. Wow, if I keep drinking beers like this one I might have to leave the Dark Side and go back to the Pale Strong! JB175 (1654), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 12, 2006 Updated: Aug 20, 2007Good APA, but drinking out of a plastic cup at Indians/Cubs game (Jacobs Field) not ideal. Also was hard to find elsewhere in Ohio when I tried to pick some up for the return trip to PA. Looking forward to sampling again. Re-rate 8/20/07 - its been awhile since I had this one - pleasant malty/citrus hop aroma with a nice hop flavor, tingly finish, and an just an overall refreshing APA. A huge thanks to Matt Capone for making all those treks to Western PA for this beer. Saarlander (1577), Saarlouis, Germany Jul 11, 2006 Drank this one after getting pissed at fedex today for messing up my SS package! Hoppy, but not overly so, a nice drink when I don’t want a hop bomb! Slightly sweet, malty, nice color. Very nice drink. Thanks to Duane for this brew! JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jul 9, 2006 Thanks OhioDad. Amber orange beer, thin white head. Sweet fruity hop aroma, orange and grapefruit with some toasted malt character as well. Flavour is pretty straightforward, grapefruity hops, orange, sweet slightly caramelly malt. A bit of toast. Well-balanced and well made. Medium bitterness. Very refreshing beer. SubstanceT (1090), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Jul 8, 2006 Actually pretty darn good. Classic APA good hoppyness crisp and clean. Not really much more to say about it. chimpscampee (556), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Jul 7, 2006 Updated: Aug 16, 2006A solid APA. I was hoping for more given the brewer and high ratebeer rating. Hoppy and peppery which I like but finish has harsh aspect that detacts.
