On tap @ Coles Buffalo NY. I thought this was an APA? Anyhow im rating this as an APA. Pours an orangish amber color with nice citrus hop aroma. One of the better APA’a Ive had. Nice solid hop flavor, nice balance. Crisp & always flavorful. Solid beer

This is a pretty aggressive pale ale. A dark orange appearance. The aroma is prefume and citrus. The flavor consists of grapefruit and orange peels. Despite the bitterness the beer is actually pretty smooth. I think Great Lakes rules and so does this beer.

copper pour with a white head. lemon fruit pie aroma with some apple. the sweetness is well balanced, but the flavor does not deliver. i kept waiting for this to kick in, but it all had a bit of a rubber biscuit quality. i don’t know if this was starting to go off or not. it wasn’t bad, but it was muted sawdust tasting with metallic caramel. i’ll try another from another store and see if anything changes, but the store i grabbed this from was brand new so i’m not sure what to expect.

This dark amber ale poured with a decent off-white head. Lots of citrus and pine with a slightly soapy aftertaste.

12 oz bottle best by 03/07/07 from Trooper11 - thanks! Red tinged amber with a white head. Citrus hop nose, a mild pine aroma is noticeable. Piney citrus flavors, not overly bold, very drinkable.A mildly dry bitterness moves up the sides of the tongue as a mild burn touches the throat. Insanely drinkable, very good!

"...enjoy by JUN 01/05"

A hazy, coppery body with a creamy yet tight head that rose an inch above the glass like a souffle and hung on through to the last sip. Left a nice, giraffe-back lacing. Moderately hopped aroma with grapefruit, pine and watermelon. Bitter start leads to a slightly sour middle and a bitter ending. Honeydew/lemon aftertastes with an overall clean finish.

I enjoyed two 12 oz. bottles back to back. The second bottle differed with a lightly diacetyl aroma and more lemon in the aftertaste.

Fresh date of 4/24/2005, bottle courtesy of MIlkmanDan. I ma not sure I would ever want to live anywhere where the river caught on fire! Lovely glowing amber body topped by a creamy off-white head. Glass lace is superb. The aroma is caramel, citrus, light cardboard (oxidation) and some pine. The flavor is nice though this sample is definitely a wee bit past its prime. Citrus and caramel, the pine is highly subdues at this point. Nice crisp finsih, medium body. Nice APA though a fresher sample is in order.
