The carbonation is very lively, perhaps, a tad bit too much. The palate is fairly balanced, but the finish is definitely hop accented. Overall, BRPA is very enjoyable and well built. But when I tried it it wasn’t as good. of coarse i had a Bells Pale Ale before which is a little more interesting. None the less, a quality brew. I had lost faith in Great Lakes after the Elliot Ness and Dortmunder Gold but now, I’m a fan. I just updated this one after having it again, it is so good. good enough that i drank 14 that night. awsome GMCC2181 (886), Bear/Elkton, Delaware, USA

I didn’t know what to expect from this beer since I didnt look up any information on it or have had any thing from Great Lakes Brewing Co. but I was surprised in a good way. Copper in color, good head. Smells like citrus hops. Taste is a well balanced, fresh, clean IPA. Classic hop bitter taste. Medium carbonation. Overall a solid IPA that I would buy if it was in my area. Thanks Josh for a good brew! Naven (884), Poway, California, USA

Nice ruby-golden color with a white head. Very hoppy aroma, some light grass and fruits as well. Nice body though a bit too much of the pine, it drowns out the malts. Ending is quite nice, smooth yet hoppy. ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 13, 2002 Had one of these on tap today at the Old Bag of Nails in Upper Arlington. This brew
pours a clear ruddy red-orange. The large off-white creamy head has good lacing. The
clean and floral nose is predominately grapefruit citrus as one would expect of an APA,
with hints of herbs and spices, and some pine. The crisp and light flavor is one that would
make hop-heads everywhere rejoice with a sweet acidic citrus middle and a bold long
bitter finish. The texture is soft, oily and dry, with a medium body and a clean and dry
finish. Great brew, but I’d take an Alpha King over this. msante79 (860), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA
