This is a really great Christmas ale. Beautiful copper color. Nicely spiced. Smooth at 7.5% alcohol. One of my favorite Christmas Ales!

Draft poured pint. I didn’t get much of an aroma but the spices and there wasn’t a head on it at all. The tasted was just spice, which I did not really care for. Was a little let down with this one...

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
on draft poured a medium to dark amber/copper color with minimal head. some lacing on the glass. the aroma was medium malt base with spices, cinnamon and ginger predominant. the flavor was of sweet malt base with a nice mix of spices. there is a mild bitterness from hops but the spices are warming. do drink this on the warm side so you get the full amount of the cinnamon and ginger. very good on the palate. overall solid offering from great lakes.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle of boring beer from Wine Academy. Poured a deep amber body with a spotty frothy off white head. Aroma is weak, spices barely come through, medium toast, bread crusts. Watery body, strong carbonation make for a not so great palate. Flavor has a little more spice on the backside, dry grains and toast. MEH.

Pretty good beer. Copper color with aromas of sweet malt, ginger, and other spices. Taste was sweet, but not too sweet, and the spice really came through and there was a nice bit of malt. Mouthfeel was thick and slick. Very enjoyable.

12 oz bottle. Poured a amber/copper color with a medium sized whitish color. Aroma was light hops, citrus, grassy notes, with light, pleasant spices. A nice light hop, citrus notes. Pleasant spice character. Enjoyable.

This is the Xmas beer everybody knows. The color is perfect copper, and the flavor is 10x better when it’s warm - so don’t drink it right out of the snow bank... let it warm up in your hands a bit.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a dark amber with thin white head that fades quickly. Aroma is dominated by spices and malty richness: cinnamon, ginger. Taste starts off sweet with a slightly tart impression. Spiciness follows up: cinnamon, ginger and clove. Finishes with a toasty malt note and a mild bitterness. A touch of warming alcohol. Overall an incredibly drinkable spice beer. The spice is there, but in balance with the malt. One of my top picks for a christmas beer.
