A nicely hopped but nicely balanced brew. I had an Anchor Christmas Ale at the same sitting and this was the better of the 2.

(2001 edition). very potent spiced ale. heady aroma of allspice and fruits. nice dark colour . heavy creamy palate and tastes of cinnamon and caramel with roasty malt flavours. a good powerful beer. I found the nosferatu to be the better of the two great lakes seasonal beers this year.

My palate must be getting jaded, I had trouble sorting out any specific spices other than a general spicy hops. A little bittersweet at the finish, sort of Belgian in character. Not bad, but there are better seasonal offerings.

(2000 Edition) Smells great, beautiful color, and not overpoweringly hoppy. Excellent blend of spices add great flavor. Buy it if you see it.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2005 Garnet in color. Flluffy off-white ring of foam. Nice balance between spicy hops, bready malt sweetness, and nutmeg. Over-spiced and fizzy. Quite unadventurous, and a very ordinary beer as far as winter warmers go.

Smelled subtly of cinnamon. I loved that. Spicy hoppy opening with a smooth sweet malt finish
