3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Verry attractive in a footed pilsner glass, reddish amber color with a continuous stream of bubbling. The aroma along the lines of winter spiced ale, cherries, ginger, anise, and clove. The flavor isnt nearly as good. It ends with a taste similar to that of flouride, not too pleasant in a beer. Other than that oddity this seems to be a rather solid offering, remaining consistent in the flavor and aroma.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Spicey aroma. Lots of honey and cinnamon. Yellowish-orange with a white head. Flavor is sweet. Honey and light cinnamon. Slight hops in the finish and lots of spice.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark with light shallows. Flavor is luke warm with some wintery goodness but not deep enough to defrost the slightest winter chill. Aroma is inviting but overall a let down. Good and drinkable but I’d like to see it beefed up.

I really enjoyed this seasonal from Great Lakes. Goes down very smooth and has a great flavor.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I love this stuff. It is thirst quenching and subtle with spices and faint hints of sweetness(honey). At 7.5% this makes it a session beer. Sit around the fireplace(if you have one) or outdoor burn pit and enjoy. BB date just a month away and the taste has not changed a bit since last holidays.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: SEP 4, 2005 From the tap, this poured an orange brown color with a frothy head. The aroma is full of cinnamon, ginger, and mild peppery spices. Medium-bodied, this is a nice refreshing drink with a tasty cinnamon finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2008 Brown/red pour, small white head. Hops all the way, lots of cascades, crystal malts, cinnamon, nutmeg, honey and more hops making this pretty bitter but balanced by enough sweet malts and spices. A touch of roasted malts in the background with a cloying honey sweetness.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
I have had this beer the last several years. Great Lakes newest bottling in 2004 is good but not one of there better ones. Besides the price, the beer is a classic when it comes to celebrating the Christmas season. The 2004 bottling is lacking in the bold spice of nutmeg and overpowering honey finish. Overall Great Lakes put out another solid product.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Jillian’s at The Flats in Cleveland. Nice body to it in a pint glass. Nice flavor--berries and such in the taste. Not heavy, with a definite Christmas appeal in the flavor. Much like an English real ale in how flat it is. Had this during night out while campaigning in Cuyahoga and Lake Counties.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
No holds barred on this Christmas Ale. Copper colored body with a fluffy off white head. Lots of spices in the aroma with ginger and cinnamon dominating. Pretty thin palate to make it easy drinking. The flavor sings out "Merry Christmas" with its spicey nutmeg and cinnamon flavors. This would be tough to drink many due to the overpowering spices, but I could envision sitting around the Christmas tree opening presents while sipping off this one.
