May 17, 2008 Bottle from trade from fiver29. Poured a clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet and chocolate malt aroma. Medium to full body. Solid balanced toasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good complex brew.

Jan 6, 2008 Shared by beervirgin at Cbus 9. Pours a dark brown color with a smallish tan head. Aroma is caramel, slight chocolate, some toffee perhaps. Flavor is caramel, chocolate, molasses. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, finishes sweet. This was a very nice surprise for a style that rarely impresses me.

Dec 10, 2007 22 oz. bottle from the Brewery, bought in September. Pours a clear deep brown color with a fairly thick white head. Toasty, caramel aromas with a hint of earthy hops in the background. Taste is similar with a more profound hop presence. Still has the brown ale malty qualities, but a nice hop bite. Clean finish with a bit if residual sweetness. A nice beer, but not worth the $10 a bottle pricetag.

Nov 2, 2007 Shared by Leopoldstoch at C-bus 9. Deep brown color with a small head. The aroma was of sweet malts, milk chocolate, and caramel. The taste was a nice creamy coffee flavor with hints of vanilla and molasses. I rather enjoyed this one.
