2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Oooh. Malty. I had this one when I worked at a local grocery in high school (shh! don’t tell) and again more recently. My palate’s been developed since then so I appreciate the brew more, but that only goes so far. OK, but nothing special.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at World of Beer, Raleigh. Suppose the name was only a matter of time. Decent pour, dark brown with russet tints, medium carbonation. Papery malts, modest toffee, and plenty of dry hops in the nose. Light bitter chocolate and a hint of coffee to taste, and plenty of bitter hops in the finish. Came across as a solid but unremarkable hoppy brown.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
An exceptional brown ale from an exceptional brewing company. Super malty, toasty, and a nice clean finish. Perfect at 6% ABV and a lovely level of carbonation. Had fresh at the source, where I’d recommend you try it yourself.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at Dutch’s. Pours a deep amber/copper color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma is caramel malt, grass with a lightly toasted bread note. The flavor was lightly toasted bread that had been soaked in a caramel sauce, mild herbal notes like a green tea and grass. Nothing really stood out and I would list this as worth trying once.
