Arayaga2 (933), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 8, 2009 Orange honey colored with a bit of white head. Aroma is lightly sweet and citrusy, much like the flavor (which is better, and present in greater quantity), with purfumey grapefruit oils, and a bit of bready malt. Firm bitterness into the finish $3/12oz spkldhenlvr24 (446), Newburgh/Buffalo, New York, USA Nov 2, 2009 12oz. bottle poured in tulip. Pours a clear, golden orange body with a thin white head. Aroma has all the characteristics of a big IPA. Complex grapefruit, floral, fresh hops with fruits and bready malts. Flavor is also very upfront grapefruit, a bit overly bitter hops. Crisp, nice malty finish. Medium bodied, a bit harsh. This beer for me, as an IPA fan, is very West Coast style IMO. Call me crazy but its another damn good beer from Great Lakes. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Nov 1, 2009 Pale golden-amber brew with a thick white head. The nose is a little bit sweet with a touch of orange peel. It’s got a fair bit of diacetyl in it, that is quite surprising to me. The hops are well in attendance with a lot of hoppy bitterness, but the brewing flaws in here make it very tough to put back. Meh. patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Oct 29, 2009 bottle - Pours lightly hazy yellow with a lingering white head. It smells of bready malt and citrus hops. The flavor is very well hopped, crisp, and citrus accented with a little malt sweetness up front. The hops is what it’s all about though and it finishes enjoyably bitter. Svesse (2597), Hässelby, Sweden Oct 26, 2009 (Bottle, Monk’s Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm) Golden amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, hoppy nose with orange, apricots and grainy malt. Fruity, malty taste with notes of orange peel, grapefruit and generous doses of earthy, citrussy hops in the finish. More than medium body with a solid malt foundation and some sweetness throughout. Very nice IPA with a good balance between hops and malt. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Oct 25, 2009 Bottle. Pours a nice crisp, clear amber color with a perfect head. Tangy and earthy hops dominate, and there could be more balance to this. It lacks a good backbone and is disappointingly thin, but I still enjoyed it. (#3709, 10/24/2009) BuckeyeBoy (1639), Boise, Idaho, USA Oct 22, 2009 Bottle Pours out a copper topped with a cream head. Aroma was of sweet caramel, citrus hops and rich malts. Taste a nice balance of the rich malts and citrus hops. A little bread/toast note as well. ben4321 (955), Rockville, Maryland, USA Oct 19, 2009 Location: 12 oz bottle jcos brought back from Ohio, 10/19/09
