12 oz. bottle RedXIII (127), Powell, Ohio, USA Oct 22, 2008 Updated: Feb 6, 2009Crystal clear golden orange color with a quickly disappearing head. Aroma is slightly citrus with pine and hops. Flavor is a nice blend of sour fruits, pine, hops with a bitter but not very strong finish. Had hints of caramel and malt as it warmed. A solid IPA from a local brewery. Rciesla (3504), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Oct 22, 2008 Draft at GL. Pours an amber golden body with a light head. Citrus orange grapefruit, pine and hop resin. Sweet from the additonal malt leading to a nice bitter warming finish. masonjer (560), Holt, Michigan, USA Oct 21, 2008 Poured a golden color out of the bottle. Aroma was piney hops and apples. Taste was piney hops as well, a bit of citrus, and a big sweetness in the middle. It makes me wonder how old this bottle is, but bought it from the store and drank it the same night. Still quite good, but the sweetness got to me a little bit. Tessic (439), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Oct 20, 2008 This IPA poured a golden yellow colour with a fast disipating head. To the nose there are scents of gin, hopps, grass and some citrus. First taste was smooth and bitter with very strong hopp flavours bordering on acidic. Tea flavours along with the hopps and juniper berries. Finish is bitter, and the palate is just the same. A hopp-heads delight! FlssmrBrewAlum (1079), Lisle, Illinois, USA Oct 14, 2008 Imperial Pint on tap at The Galway Tribes (Frankfort, IL). Poured a deep fiery copperish red pour, with a small head that dissipates to a film and coats fairly well. This beer looks fiesty, just by its color. Aromas are hoppy, floral and citrus weighing heavily on the palate. Taste is similar, an extreme bitterness balanced with nice grapefruit citrus in the body and a more mellow finish that still rings in with a sturdy citrus bitterness. Touches of pine and resin are hard to find, as this is a major grapefruit tartness bomb. A pretty good IPA, with a malt profile that loses itself in the grapefruit. Cheers! thickfreakness (130), AUSTIN, Texas, USA Oct 5, 2008 5/11/08. Poured into a shaker pint. It pours a nice golden amber with a lasting white head. It smells heavily of floral and citrus hops but its also balanced out with some sweet malt. This is a really solid sessionable IPA. Its pretty easy to drink and the malt melds really well with the strong hoppiness. Really surprised by this one. Probably my second favorite from Great Lakes so far next to the Blackout Stout. McGarnigle (303), Rochester, New York, USA Oct 1, 2008 Bottle dated 10/24/08. Golden, looks thick, lacy head. Lots of flavor here: initially a bit sweet and fruity, some spiciness, but finishes with grapefruit juice aftertaste. Good balance of malt and hops. Can feel it in my ribs. Well-made IPA.
