mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 9, 2007 [383-20070630] Tap @ Great Lakes (Cleveland, OH). Sweet orange citrus hops aroma with a touch of lychee. Clear, orange amber body with a medium-quick white head. Pretty citrusy hops flavour. Bitter and dry initially, medium-full body. Pleasant, hides the alcohol well. smaynard6000 (66), New Castle, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 9, 2007 Bottle. Poured a deep bronze color with a small white head. Aroma is hoppy, which comes out strong in the flavor. Dry aftertaste with a metallic hint to it. The alcohol content is evident in the flavor. Didn’t pick up the fruitiness referred to by the bottle and others rating this. T2Tool (352), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA Jul 7, 2007 Poured a copper color with a nice white head. Smell was of hops, which was also heavy on the first taste., but was rounded out with a good balance of malts. There was a hint of sour dough bread also. As the beer warmed, the alcohol became more evident. jerc (3861), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 7, 2007 Updated: Sep 23, 2007Sept 2007. Bottle. Golden orange-yellow body with a huge fluffy white head. Light hoppy aroma is quite mild, pleasant but very muted. Flavour is bitter, moderately fruity with notes of grapefruit, and oddly sweet tropical fruit. Alcohol is not in your face, but is lightly noticeable throughout, amplifying the bitterness. Smooth average to medium palate. 7/5/7+/3+/14 - 3.5
July 2007. Draft at the brewpub. Yellow almost headles body. Interesting aroma, light citrus and a melange of well blended fruit. (7+) Bitter flavour, and pleasantly fruity hops showing light grapefruit, lemon, and a touch of lychee in the finish. Alcohol is quite restrained. This is tasty, but not what I was hoping for - the flavour is quite pleasant but not nearly assertive enough. Others have rated ths highly, so perhaps I will crack open the bottle I picked up to compare. 7+/3/7/3/14 - 3.4 strangaj (229), West Chester, Ohio, USA Jul 4, 2007 A clear dirty blond color with a white head. Aroma is has a mild yeast appeal. Taste is fairly modest with just the right amount of hoppy bite to it that makes it a real IPA. There is a hint of metallic flavoring to it in the modest dry aftertaste. This beer is what I think about when I imagine what a good IPA should taste like. Quite nice. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Jul 2, 2007 Updated: Jul 3, 2007Bottle (12oz). Clear amber, average frothy off-white head. I get a ton of pineapple in the nose, dry floral hop bitterness; restrained. The taste is also pineapple, with lots of grapefruit, and slowly building dry funky hops - again, simple, restrained, dry and sneaky-boozy. Decent body, very astringent, mildly alcoholic, long non-aggressive bitter finish - I really like this one, I’d drink this a lot, wish it were readily available in my area! barleyPops (1079), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA Jun 26, 2007 12 oz. bottle courtesy of illini08, thanks Jeremy. pours a golden honey in color with a slightly off-white head and pretty decent lacing. aroma is mostly floral hops with some grapefruit noted as well. flavor is more of the same with just enough malt to help add some balance. a rather dry bitter aftertaste that goes well with the floral hop profile. would make for a nice session IPA! TheBeerOrg (1563), Kentucky, USA Jun 25, 2007 Pours a mixture of bronze and golden with a fully receding white head. Aroma of orange, citrus, grapefruit, sticky toffee. Taste is toffee, hop resin, and grapefruit. Mouthfeel is full bodied, resinous with lively carbonation.
