Commercial Description:
Medium bodied and well hopped with dry, fruity aftertaste, this monumental India Pale Ale honors the hero from The War of 1812 who battled the enemy on Lake Erie.

tasted like an english IPA made with american hops. definitely a fruitiness, likely from an english ale yeast in the flavor as well as a nice bitterness from the hops and a prominently citrus hop character.

Clear pale body with a small white head. The aroma is apples, bread, pear and light citrus. The flavor is sweet fruits, herbal and apple. Medium body is softly carbonated and a bit tannic. wtf? This is an IPA?

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Slightly hazy golden with a small, off-white head. Fat, fruity nose. Very full body with sweet, fruity accents and dry, citrusy hops. Nice all right. 310507

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of hops and malt. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of fruit - among them grapefruit.

Sweet hoppyiness on the nose. Pours clear pale yellow-orange in color with a nice white head. Full sweet hoppy IPA with a fine bitter and dry ending. Gentle frothy mouthfeel, slightly syrupy, warm after taste. A solid IPA, just right for starting my summer ale season. The bitter ending stays with you to the bottom of the glass.

Bottled. Golden coloured. Unclear. Dense off white head. Flowers, light herbs and some sweetness in the aroma. A bit citric. Flavour is fruity and herbal. Sweetness, flowers and some orange and caramel. Is medium bodied. Light to medium bitter end.

pours a dark yellow with a little gold tint to it and has a one finger bubbly off white head. aroma is malt and hops with some melon and orange characteristics. has a medium body with descent lacing and carbonation. flavor is definitely better and stronger than aroma. a very nice ipa and another nice one from great lakes. palate is oily yet a little creamy as well, and has a dry hop aftertaste. i would definitely get more of this!

Bottle. More mainstream IPA than I remember from the draft version; less spritzy. Rather decent IPA now. Quite drinkable yet still doesn’t stand out enough to justify regular 6-pack purchasing.

Draft at Taste of Cincinnati festival. Bubbly orange body topped by a light but lasting head. "Medium bodied and well hopped with dry, fruity aftertaste" seems appropriate. Focus is on the citric hops, dry bitter finish. Somewhat spritzy mouthfeel. Like many other Great Lakes offerings (with the exception of Blackout Stout, which is delicious), this is technically well-made yet doesn’t succeed in drawing you in and making you want more.
