SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA Apr 26, 2007 Honey yellow pour with a firm white cap. The nose is an initial hop blast, but strong buttery notes start to emerge as it warms. Thin bodied with little malt backing. The best thing about this IPA is the tongue scraping bitterness that lingers long into the finish. Piney and grassy with some rindish notes as well. I may actually choose Burning River over this though for drinkability. BeNobleDark (59), Allendale, Michigan, USA Apr 26, 2007 FANTASTIC IPA! This brew absolutely surprised me! Great aroma, and the brew itself was full of complexity and flavor. The complexity of this IPA blew me away! It was a fantastic balance of initial bitter, hops, flavor, and alcohol. This was an excellent IPA, i highly reccomend! TerryR (382), Oswego, Illinois, USA Apr 25, 2007 Golden/orange with a short lived head. Great hop aroma - lots of pine and citrus. Decent malt middle before nice bitter finish. Very well made. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Apr 24, 2007 Bottle. Somewhat subdued hop aroma but nice. Aromatic. Slight haze, otherwise clear body with scattered slow rising bubbles. Large, lasting, very slightly off-white head. Nice appearance. Excellent IPA. Strong and piney. I can’t believe I’ve never rated this brew before. For some reason I seem to have trouble remembering which GL brews I’ve had which ones I haven’t. Very underrated. dkoonce (880), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA Apr 18, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Light straw color with a thick head. Aroma is mostly pine resin. Body is medium and tastes about like the aroma. Fairly quick finish. bilchak (45), Ohio, USA Apr 13, 2007 not a huge fan of ipa’s, but this was pretty good. nice hoppy flavor, and very drinkable for a prety high octane beer. poured from the bottle, golden amber in color, nice head. good beer. TheShat (131), Lakewood, Ohio, USA Apr 12, 2007 Updated: May 7, 2008Bottle pours a golden color. Head dissapears quickley but glass laced beautifully. Tremendous hop flavor, with citrous and pine notes and a hint of malt flavor. The bitter aftertaste sits pleasantly on the roof of the mouth. This is one of the finest IPA’s I have had. MrBendo (1039), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Apr 4, 2007 Clear deep amber with a medium head. Head dissipates quickly, leaving little lacing. Aroma is biscuit, with grass and pine hops. Taste was fresh hops, not overpowering, and caramel/biscuit malts. Descent beer in all respects.
