3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, from trade with Captain Cougar. Good nose, sweet & sour. Grassy, grainy, yeasty nuttiness, honey. Clean golden orange, good head & lace. Bitter flavors, citrus, grapefruit & lemon rind, grainy, honey, nutty. Medium body, lite oily creamy mouthfeel, bitter finish. Nice brew, maybe kind of narrowly bitter as it was a rindy bitterness.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle from Leopoldstoch. Another great brew from Great Lakes. Super nice amber color, with a great floral hop smell. Super fresh tasting beer wtih lots of citrus and pine going on. A nice malty backbone too. This one has a kick to it, and @ 7.5% I can understand why. Good beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle, from OhioDad, thanks so much! Pours a beautiful clear orange-amber with a small off-white head that diminishes to a ring with light lacing. This is a nice little IPA from Great Lakes, out of the midwest but with west coast tendencies. Aroma is bright with citrus fruitiness, undertones of caramel and toasty malts, clean floral hops with fresh orange and lemon notes as well. Flavor is juicy and sweet, again more citrus fruit with hints of caramel dust, spruce and flowers in the finish with a lingering bitter aftertaste. Medium body and gentle carbonation. I have to say this is a dellicious beer overall and a pleasant surprise. Thanks Scott!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From a 12 oz. long neck brown bottle with a blurb about a war that was a tie, except we won when Olí Hickory routed the British at New Orleans in overtime, a best before date of Sep.19.06 that I didnít care too much about since I hadnít tried this.
Poured a clear orangey copper with a foamy white head that settled into a thin soapy, sudsy lacing, a small amount of ringed sticking.
Aromas of grapefruit and hints of pine with light sweet maltiness in the background.
Good carbonation and a crisp, dry and smooth medium-light bodied mouthfeel.
Good IPA taste, grapefruit and oranges that have a dry bitterness on the tongue, sweet grain malty with the lightest touch of caramel, the alcohol is well masked and provides a soft warmth in the throat and a dry hoppy finish.
This is a very quaffable IPA, another good beer from the Cleveland brewery, one of the better breweries in the United States.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Pours a a golden color with a decent sized white head. Smells like a bit of orange with a bit of pine and earthy tones in there as well. Taste is very earthy... lots of pine flavor and some grassy notes. An enjoyable brew.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Consumed one week after "best by" date.
Pours with a clear, bright copper body, mild carbonation and a thick, cream-colored cap. Some vegetal notes greet the nose first, but they wear down as the head dissipates. Next it becomes like a tomato sauce as hops add a spicy, herbal character. Finally I find the grapefruity aroma I was expecting with an added twist of lemon. The taste is much more reliable with a bittersweet rollercoaster of flavors merging the caramel sweetness of malts with the sharp bitterness of citrus rind. Sweet tea creeps in at the finish to add a pleasant touch of complexity. Smooth in the mouth with a light tingle and a dry ending. Very good... until I swirl the half empty glass and once more breathe in the vegetables, this time with a light dose of alcohol as back-up. Here we go again...
<font size=-4>Thanks for the bottle <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/View-User-14352.htm&g this was really more enjoyable than the numbers make it out to be.</font>

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
beautiful orange body with minimal white head...aroma starts with light fruit (primarily green apple and white grapes), and has a sort of vinegar-like, sugary finish...flavor of light fruits, apple skin/core, orange peel, coriander..finishes with a tart bite...a very unique beer for this style
