| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 20, 2006 Clearish straw-colored body, thin off-white head. Soapy, earthy, piney hops nose, with biscuit and spice. Rather strong soapy body with flower petals and pine, sweet breads, and a long, bitter, spicy finish. Cerealy, a touch nutty. Pretty good IPA. Light copper orange in color with a fluffy white two finger thick head. Sweet malt and bitter hops get equal play in the fore....both linger. The malts meld with slightly toasted grain notes while the hops become citric and floral on a seperate path. There is a sort of delicate strength to this beer. It’s not bullish, but it has a lot of flavor concentration. Quite nice and a pleasant suprise....I especially like the sweet toasty flavor that lingers in the aftertatse alongside the orange rind bitterness. I wish more IPA’s were like this. jsquire (2123), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 11, 2007 Deep golden beer with a frothy off white head. Fresh floral hoppy nose with green apple and grapefruit rind. Full mouthfeel, almost syrupy. Cannied orange peel, pine resin, caramel squares. This is a hot IPA, which tingles on the tongue and leaves a thick, sweet hop resin in the finish. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 16, 2001 Not my type of IPA. Burnibg River should be dubbed this. Maybe they just have it backwards or I am just an idiot, which is probably so. Different hops and maltier than BR. vyvvy (2069), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 2, 2007 Pours clear light copper with a large off-white head. The aroma has semi-sweet caramel malt and light earthy / woody hops. Medium slick body with gentle prickly carbonation. The flavor starts with dry caramel malt with underlying honey notes, piny hops and light medicinal notes. The finish offers more hops (piny, woody and earthy) with the earthy hop taste lingering on. This is good, but not what I’d hoped for. patrick767 (2058), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 29, 2009 bottle - Pours lightly hazy yellow with a lingering white head. It smells of bready malt and citrus hops. The flavor is very well hopped, crisp, and citrus accented with a little malt sweetness up front. The hops is what it’s all about though and it finishes enjoyably bitter.
