This is what I am drinking right now with some regularity. Clear golden with a medium sized medium lasting white head. Frothy. The nose is present with just a kick of malts and hops. Nearly some copper. The taste has pine and lots of sugar sweetness. Very good and very drinkable.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of illini08, thanks Jeremy. pours a golden honey in color with a slightly off-white head and pretty decent lacing. aroma is mostly floral hops with some grapefruit noted as well. flavor is more of the same with just enough malt to help add some balance. a rather dry bitter aftertaste that goes well with the floral hop profile. would make for a nice session IPA!

Another solid brew from Great Lakes. Pours a gold/orange color, thin white head. Pine and grapefruit aroma and flavor. Well balanced, goes down a little too easy.

On tap @ Riverside in Kent 7/13/06: Light amber w/ a lasting white head. Pretty clear! Piney & lightly lemony citrus hops w/ a some herbal and grassy notes. Toasty malt is medium beyond the hops & lightly nutty for some reason. Caramel is almost absent, but it’s there, mostly toasty malt and some bready notes make up for the lack of caramel, and a very light fruitiness. Well balanced but just to bitter w/ piney and herbal hop flavors. Toasty malt again in the palate in even balance w/ hops for flavor, and lightly fruity. Finish is herbal hop and lightly bitter w/ some grassy and caramel notes in the aftertaste which stays mostly grassy. Medium carbonation, medium body, smooth, well hidden alcohol. It’s been a while since I’ve had this, but I’m glad it’s back!

Golden, maybe half a shade darker than a pilsener (in a pilsener glass, as it so happens). Head of larger bubbles dissipates into a small ring of tiny bubbles left behind in a few small patches of lace w/ each sip. Nose is a fruity bouquet of hops w/ some pear bites coming out once tasted. Maybe a touch too bitter w/ resiny hops in the finish but w/ real fine feisty carbonation. Not bad at all but I can’t think of any reason I’d chose this over Burning River. Commodore Perry rules all though. Fuck the British Empire and the impressment of our sailors.

Location: 12 oz bottle jcos brought back from Ohio, 10/19/09

Aroma: Nice balanced citrus/pine and caramel nose
Appearance: Clearish golden color, nice amount of lace
Flavor: A nice balanced IPA flavor as well
Palate: Smooth and drinkable, medium body
Overall Impression: This is a pretty tasty balanced IPA, nice flavors and drinks really nicely. I liked this one.

Clear deep amber with a medium head. Head dissipates quickly, leaving little lacing. Aroma is biscuit, with grass and pine hops. Taste was fresh hops, not overpowering, and caramel/biscuit malts. Descent beer in all respects.

I.P.A.’s aren’t really my style, but theres not a great lakes beer that doesn’t go down good at the brewpub. Light copper orange pour. Big citrus hops, grapefruit, orange, even slight lemon. Good toasted malt flavor and I liked that the malts weren’t sweet. This was more to my liking since nothing was over the top.
