2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
a decent irish ale, not quite as good as we had hoped, but it gets the job done. fails to leave a lasting impression or ask for a repeat buy

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours light orange with a diminishing head. Nutty and malty aroma. Caramel, citrusy, and even some cookie like flavor. Clean and very mild bitter finish. A very solid example of the style

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. Poured a clear, lighter shade of orange with a semi-well-retained cap of creamy off-white head. Nose was quite pleasant, with toasty caramel, leafy/floral hoppage, nuttiness, and light fruits (maybe some pear). Sticky caramel, apples, pears, and a woodsy feel to the flavor... just a hint of citrus sourness... caramel and alcohol became a tad biting on the back of the palate as this warmed. Overall very drinkable and solid brew.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: AUG 1, 2010 Until now I have never been impressed by an Irish Red. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright reddish caramel color with a small yellow-white head that fades quickly. The aroma is sour tangy malts. The flavor is sour tangy malts with a light apple and pear element and a light zesty malt undertone. The beer is smooth and eminently drinkable. Definitely a better beer than the sum of it’s parts.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice red color, not a lot of head. Nice, fruity aroma, with a strong yeast flavor. Finished clean.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Really nice red-orange color, smallish head sticks to the sides with a bit if lace. Aromas are fruity, sweet and floral, with peach and tangerine, malt sugar, alcohol and yeast. Flavor is nice, medium sweet roast malt, maple syrup, espresso, caramel, toffee and summer fruits, balanced by a solid wallop of hops and hop bitterness. Solid mouthfeel. Good full-bodied ale.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, best by May 1, 2006. Sounds pretty fresh to me! Looks like a really clear amber ale to me. Not much aroma. Nice lacing, but not much head even when I pour the beer down the middle (like the Bud Light commercial tells me to!). Surprisingly medium- to full body. I tend to go for beers on the malty side, so this is very appealing to me. I can hardly taste/smell any hops! This is just the kind of beer I would reach for a second time!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Bottle (best by 3/27/06) via trade with <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=2 target=blank>OhioDad, Sláinte!) Pours a clear reddish copper with a creamy biscuit head. Aroma is mostly sweet malt, a little bready. Sloppy lacing. Mouthfeel pretty dry, fairly smooth, a little watery. Taste is just mild malt with a mildly bitter finish. Easy drinker but kind of blah for flavor.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
This beer introduces itself with a pleasant aroma of roasted nuts/grain, caramel, and hops. This amber colored solution sits under a decent off-white head that fades leaving a good amount of lacing. This medium bodied beer offers a nice healthy taste of roasted grain. A caramel taste creeps in just prior to swallowing and lingers well after the fluid has left the mouth.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours to a glowing deep amber body with a thick, foamy white head and nice lacing. The aroma is sugar cookie, oatmeal cookie, lightly soapy. The flavor is toasty, nutty, cookies, interesting hops, toffee. The palate is medium bodied, bitter, very drinkable. Some lingering citrus/floral/toffee flavors.
