Bottles. Darker colored pour with an off white head. Smell is fruity and malty with a little bit of hops. Taste similar, easy to drink, not really a winter warmer, but it comes close. Not a bad beer that is usually easy to obtain in the winter months.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 radio_nowhere (440) - Maryland, USA - JUN 11, 2013
Bottle into pint glass. Light golden-amber color with some white lace. Aroma of toast, toffee, nuts with a light grassy hop note. Taste is heavy malt sweetness, caramel, bready, grainy, some roast with very minimal hop bitterness for balance. Moderate body, average carbonation, sweet, somewhat earthy with a dry finish. I’m convinced after a few ratings this isn’t my style. It’s not from lack of trying though!

Bottle @ home via trade with barak316. Thanks Bill! Pours a clear, dark rust orange appearance with a cream colored head. Quite nutty, very toasty malty, big toffee, caramel, biscuity aroma. Cracker, toasty malty, light roast, a touch fruity, nutty flavor with a somewhat bitter, floral hoppy finish. Not bad.
1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 crossovert (4775) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 29, 2013
Old rate. Really a style that doesn’t fit anywhere. This one is maltier but still confusing.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 kramer (3909) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 1, 2013
Bottle. Pours a clear amber to copper body with a small frothy off-white head that left a bit of light lacing. The nose is pretty standard for the style, dry toasty malt with a touch of light yeast and a minimal touch of hops. The flavor is toasted malt with a little too much residual sweetness for my tastes. It almost tastes as though it’s a little under attenuated, but I feel like that this is what they were going for. Just a little caramel and fruitiness on the finish. Light bodied and a touch husky in texture with soft fizzy carbonation. I didn’t really care for this one all that much, I don’t think there’s a brewing flaw in here, it’s just something that doesn’t turn me on.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 burg326 (2391) - Florida, USA - APR 23, 2013
12 ounce bottle poured a light amber color with aromas of light caramel, light roast, some hay, and a touch of biscuit. Flavors are the same, light haying he aftertaste, nice beer overall.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 BeerSquare (114) - - APR 16, 2013
Pretty good for what it is-- not my favorite style of beer, but nor is this a real traditional Irish red.
It’s lighter, with a strawy, wheatey, sharp yeastiness. How bout that.
It’s the balance the retains a pretty good rating-- you can tell this beer was made with some love and skill when flavors don’t work for you, but something still makes it work.
Here, it’s the strange lack of carmel or roasty / toasty maltyness. It’s there in balance, but there are no major flavor notes in these areas. It’s all much lighter and brighter than that-- very mellow, but not rich.
So, good, fairly drinkable, a good beer to give my dad. He’s great, but he won’t sprain a taste bud on a strong hop flavor.

12 oz bottle courtesy of jcwattsrugger. Pours a light red/orange with a 1/2" white head. A bit of lace. Aroma is bread and fruit, think toast with butter and jam. Sweet flavor, all caramel malt. Small hint of fruity hops. Medium bodied and smooth. Mildly bitter aftertaste.

Bottle thanks to Sarah! Pours a clear reddish amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a light grassy hop note with a bit biscuit and a good amount of sweet grains. Flavor is quite sweet with biscuit and sweet grains and not much of a hop profile.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 574deadzone (570) - North Central, Indiana, USA - MAR 30, 2013
On tap. Pours a clear amber-brown with a thin eggshell ring of head. Nose is "Irish," lots of toffee, pear notes, some dust, caramel apple. Mostly sweet flavor with some bitterness on the end. Heavier side of medium bodied, very malty, with abrupt twangy finish. Not a bad brew, good to pair with some pub grub, but nothing inspiring.
