4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
(Project X bottle from the brewery) Pours a lightly hazed straw gold with a thin white head of fine bubbles, just a bit of lace. Aroma has a bunch of barrel character, with oak and wine, not buttery (knowing what it is, the light tannic red fruit and herbal, slightly spicy character of Pinot Noir), some light yeasty fruity funk, faint citrus from the hops. Flavour begins with some reasonably tart and lightly funky red fruit over light malt grain dries out, with a pleasant bitter character throughout. Early fruity character (good blend of fruit from barrel, yeast esters and hops) becomes moderated by wood, light spice and then finishes with a slightly tannic, hop-driven bitterness. Carb fairly light for style, effervescent, body moderate. Lots of barrel here, but it is a great integration with hop and yeast elements - from a big Pinot Noir fan, this is an excellent summer sipper.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Volo. Pours a clear orange with average-sized white head. Aroma is full of oak and red grape, some subtle fruity Belgian notes. Flavour is very wine-y with lots of oaky barrel and grape with light funky fruit. Light carb. I liked this (and the Pinot aged Audrey Hopburn) but found the barrel really dominates here.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught at Bar Hop. Pours a slightly hazy pale gold with a small long-lasting frothy white head. Nice aroma of wood, herbs & spices, wine, a good amount of yeast and citrus fruit. Flavour of wine, wood, yeast and fruit. Big finish of alcohol, hops and wood. Medium bodied. This is really good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
2013-06-19. Lightly hazy bright orange body small off white head. Aroma is pleasant, fruity, citrusy hops, light grassy touches, whisper of oak? Flavour is pleasantly fruity, lightly bitter throughout, very lightly funky. Vinous grape like fruit if you look for it amidst a more general fruit character. Pleasantly fruity throughout. Average plus bodied palate, effervescent carbonation. Not so obviously different from the regular Deliverance, but a different character to the fruit notes. Would be curious to taste them side by side. On tap at Bar Hop, Toronto

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Bar Hop. The tannins are high, the wine aspect dominates, but this grows on me (as it warms). Nicely drinkable. Some orange hops. Edgy and not like anything.
