Probably my favorite lager; and go-to beer for warm weather. Full, smooth, drinkable, slightly hoppy. If I had to be limited to 5 beers in my fridge, this would be one of them.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 superspak (1481) - Michigan, USA - MAY 16, 2013
12 ounce bottle into lager glass, best before 5/8/2013. Pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of pear, apple, grape, pepper, floral, grass, bread, cracker, honey, and herbal earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of hop, malt, and moderate ester notes; with good strength. Taste of bread, toast, cracker, pear, apple, pepper, floral, grass, light honey, and herbal earthiness. Lingering notes of light fruits, bread, toast, pepper, floral, honey, and herbal earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic balance of bready malt and spicy hop flavors; with light-moderate fruity ester notes and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and crisp mouthfeel that is very nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent Dortmunder as expected. Great balance of hop and malt flavor; extremely smooth and crisp to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

12 oz bottle courtesy of jcwattsrugger. Pours yellow gold with a one finger white head. Bits of ragged lace. Faint aroma of floral hops, grain and honey. Semi sweet with a malt forward flavor profile, yet crisp in the mouth. Finishes with a hint of bitterness.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 chalicemaster (35) - Ohio, USA - MAY 13, 2013
Beautiful golden ale with a wonderful wheat and bread taste that never overbears, but also never bores. It’s very difficult to make a simple beer that’s also interesting and delicious, but Dortmunder Gold is that beer.
2.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Silverbush85 (41) - - MAY 9, 2013
I had this beer poured from a bottle to a pint glass and it was WAY over carbonated. Perhaps the date was bad, but it was undrinkable due to the excessive carbonation. Flavor was decent.. I'll have to try again.

Draft at Misconduct Tavern with PJ and Pat. Pours a clear golden body with nice, white fluffy head. Aroma is clean grain, light crisp hop and malt. Mouthfeel is thin and crisp, well balanced overall and super sessionable. Nice.

yeah smooth with good balance. malt more pronounced as appropriate. seemingly hearty yet delicate with low sweetness. still a sense of caramel? this hop head gets low hop and pepper type spice.

Bottle. I have fond memories of sipping this brew with Vinny and the Bear Jude down the shore, early summer 2012, jamming out to some Box Elder. (*air riff*) This baby pours a slick transparent gold with a fat, creamy, fluffy white head. Nice cloudy, seafoam lace. Aroma is freshly buttered Jersey corn, salt air, pilsner malts, and lager yeast. Tastes deliciously bittersweet; ultra clean with a mild body and a fantastically buttery finish. This is a hell of a beer and I genuinely enjoy it. Couldn’t hurt that the bottle was fresh as can be, ensuring the bite of the hops would offset the sweetness of the malt.

bottle. Pours golden yellow, soft bubbly, decent head. Aroma of grass, barley, metallic. What a nice crisp taste; more grassy/hay acidity and balanced with soft sweet bready malts. Normally not a fan of this style, but this one is really quite good.
