Bottle from the middle of nowhere. Pours a dark opaque black with a thin layer of tan head. Aroma of coffee and roasted malts. Taste is great, with a well balanced coffee and roasted malt combo with hints of chocolate.

Mindwarp (39) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 24, 2014
Bottle poured into a DFH Ale signature glass-- Iím keeping this short because I havenít had a Porter that doesnít look and smell like a Porter. This looks and smells like a Porter, which is good. Has a mild coffee taste with a little cocoa (?). A little thinner than Iím used to in Porters. If you like coffee youíll like this beer, I donít so my rating may be a little lower than others.

GIJOE (592) - North Berwick, Maine, USA - MAY 20, 2014
Dark reddish-brown pour with a creamy, tan head that stays long. Thick curtains. Nose is rich malty goodness with bold caramel and vanilla notes and a subtle hint of pepper. Taste is well-balanced. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Very nice porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Barnoloid (139) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 15, 2014
A classic porter from Great Lakes. Reviewing from draft served in imperial pint glass. Pours a deep, dark coffee color with a tan head. The coffee and bakers chocolate notes are apparent from the nose on this, and come right through from the first sip. There is a reassuringly medium body here - with appropriate carbonation. An excellent porter, which does a fine job of providing roasted notes with a solid hop profile underpinning everything to keep this lively.

BAMF (78) - Albion, Michigan, USA - MAY 14, 2014
Aroma is roasted malt and chocolate cannot discern much of any hop character. Appearance is deep brown with Ruby highlights approaching black in color with a medium tan head that quickly dissipates. Head should be a bit larger and longer lasting for a robust Porter. Flavor is heavy roasted flavors with coffee chocolate and some Burnt toast flavors. Hops make some presence with a dryer lingering roast finish. Mouth feel is medium to medium light body though it probably would do better as a medium heavy Mouthfeel. Carbonation is moderate with some alcohol flavors. Overall it is a roasting first toast robust Porter needs a bit more mouth feel but is very well balanced and smooth.

Shot (116) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - MAY 10, 2014
From a bottle. Pours black with a creamy head that dissipates to a thin layer. Aromas are sweet chocolate and toffee with notes of vanilla and coffee. Flavors are coffee and dark chocolate upfront that give way to hints of dried fruit and finish with gypsum, licorice and a slight hop bite. Creamy mouthfeel. Deliciously smooth. Not a heavy beer, but big flavor! This is an excellent, velvety porter. Maybe the best Iíve ever had!

Maxbier (155) - Maryland, USA - MAY 6, 2014
Dark brown/black, dark brown head. Aroma of caramel and roasted malts and malty sweetness. Flavor is rich roasty malt flavor with caramel and nice balance of hop flavors. Finish is caramel/toffee flavor sweetness and slight hop bittering. Very good porter.

This porter is robust but Iím going to overlook it as one that claimed a chocolate/coffee taste and barely delivered. Some thing about the palette left me thinking... cheap.
