12 oz. bottle from MrBendo. Pour is a very deep brown with ruby highlights. A really nice looking rocky khaki head tops the beer. Aroma is pretty faint with roasted malt and a hint of hoppiness. Taste is mostly the roastiness with a nice sharp bitterness to the finish. Some lactic sweetness in there as well. Nice Porter. Thanks Todd.

Nice malty, coffee, chocolate aroma. Very aromatic. Poured a nice brown. Nice tan-brown foamy head, that quickly receded into a foamy thin cap, left nice lacing. A very nice malty, chocolate, coffee flavor that starts out medium sweet then changes into a plesantly medium burnt bitter taste with hints of dark chocolate. Neither is overpowering, but pleasant and strong enough to make you want more. A really nice balance. Full Bodied, thick creamy texture, medium soft carbonation, a plesant medium bitter smoky finish. I enjoyed this Porter quite a bit. Will definitely buy again. :) Great job by Great Lakes!

Mother’s milk? No… but close enough for a hot July day. Great Lakes’ Edmund Fitzgerald Porter is really much better chilled colder than the 55 degrees the brewer recommends. The aroma escapes and wreaks havoc the moment the bottle is opened. You either drink it or you know you’ll be sorry. This is a full-bodied brew splashed upon the palate, smooth on the descent and it doesn’t leave a lot of bad memories for your tongue to argue with afterwards. The bottle says ‘bittersweet coffee-chocolate’… but there’s no suspicion you are sipping a latte hybrid. It’s beer, good and wholesome and far better than what we expected from this brewery. ...

Bottle. Poured a rich dark chestnut color with a light tan head. Great chocolate and light coffee aromas with a small bit of hazelnut also. Sweet and roasty notes on the taste, neither being real strong, but the flavor is great because of the balance. The roastiness picks up on the finish nicely. A tasty porter.

Poured a solid borwn in color that did allow some light to seep through. However, the light was very thin and weak. Slight tan head that receded to a thinner film. Nose is malty with some bits of smokey wood rising out of its depths. Flavor is quite nice. Not overly done with the smokiness but just the right amount that it holds up well without wearing out the tastebuds. Little bits of licorice candy as well. Heavy peated malts too. Medium mouthfeel that thickens as it warms. Too bad I only have one bottle of this beer.

POurs a beutiful black/brown with notes of coffee and toast malt. The flavors drive the palate and you get a depth of cocoa and choco;ate. The beer drinks quite smooth.
