Bottle. Appearance - nearly black with ruby highlights. Tan head dissipates to long-lasting lace cap. Smell - dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans. Taste - hop bitterness balances the malt sweetness flawlessly! Mouthfeel - medium body with refreshing carbonation. Overall - a flawless porter that goes perfect with BBQ

Dark brown with rich head that faded and left some nice lacing. Served in chilled glass :-(
Mild tasty porter with predominantly coffee aftertaste.

Nice thick beige head that fades fairly quick. Aroma is roasty coffee goodness. Taste is more of the same roasted coffee with some chocolate bitterness on the follow through. I little hops on the aftertaste. Overall an outstanding porter!

My second go around on this was not as good as the first. I had fond memories of this being one of the best porters I’ve ever had but this has diminished some. The aroma was of roasted malts but with a touch of sourness. The color was a dark brown with a mild head. Carbonation was below average, which worked fine with the robust malt flavors. Roasted essence with very mild hops. Some coffee at the finish with woody flavors as well. Still damn good but I guess my beer jouney has taken me down better paths.

Good porter with dark chocolate, coffee flavor and a slightly smokey finish. Easy to drink. Wish it were slightly heavier.

I’ve had this twice now, once on tap and tonight poured from bottle. So very good! Nice black pour with one inch tan head, lots of lacing as it’s consumed. Aromas of malt, coffee, vanilla, cocoa. Same flavors with a touch of brown sugar, molasses and a hint of soy. Soft carbonation and a full creamy palate. Great beer from great state!

Chocolate, coffee, and molasses in the aroma. Bittersweet flavor with coffee, chocolate, and some nutty, earthy flavors. Finish is surprisingly sweet, with coffee bitterness and a little smoke. Really good.

Pours dark brown with some red, thick frothy head. Smells chocolatey, roasted, not over assertive. Tastes of chocolate, coffee, maybe a little hops. Some lingering dark chocolate/ bitterness flavor. Very full bodied and easy to drink.

Very tasty, but it feels like there’s something missing. Perhaps not roasty enough? Super velvety and smooth though. Great drinker.

Poured from draft at nitewood. Black with bubbles and frothy head. Fresh chocolate aroma. It is a clean and easy drinking stout. Almost like a light. Really good
