Complex, roasty aroma with a bittersweet, chocolate-coffee taste and a bold hop presence.

Bottle. The pour was a deep dark pitch black with a huge (3-4 finger) medium tan frothy head that was fully lasting and possessed excellent streaky lacing. The aroma was of roasted chocolate malt and leathery yeast with notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, molasses and a touch of smoke. The taste was very malty with a mild sweet chocolate note at first, but then the taste shifted slightly to a mild bitterness with a good strong coffee presence and a light sweet molasses ending. The flavor hung on for a very long time proceeding the swallow with a nice bitter coffee taste left to linger on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was almost full in body with a dry oily texture and a medium carbonation. Overall this is a great tasting Porter that was quite easy going down and had an exceptional bold robust flavor, making this one hek of an enjoyable drinking experience…

Part of a flight, on draft. Clear dark brown pour with a small head. Nose is roast/coffee, malt. Flavor follows with a bitter finish. Decent but probably over-rated on this website.

Very good porter, smoky toasted malt, good lacing, head was a little weak but still not bad, from pint glass.

Draught. Not much head. Aroma is very nice rich light roast and sweet. Flavor packs more roast, light wood, light milk sweetness and lactic bit. Feel is slick and a little wooden. All around lovely beer. Simple in the best way.

On tap at Conor O'Neils. Pours a dark black, nice and bright with full flavor. A classic. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours dark brown with faint beige head. Aroma of Toasted oats, dark chocolate, sweet floral hops. Taste is roasted earthy coffee, a tinge lactic, oh-so clean (maybe it is the water, after all..). Could drink all night. A workmanlke beer. Exemplary for the style. Great Lakes’ best year round offering.

Deep brown color with a nice nose of roasted malts and coffee. Taste is same with some chocolate sweetness. Solid porter.

Draft: my favorite porter. Sweet, chocolate and roasty coffee notes. It’s got a nice heavy mouthfeel, but still leaves your mouth feeling clean and begs for another sip. Love it!

Bottle poured into a tulip glass -- Aroma is a slight peat and smoke. Flavor is great. For a split second you get something sweet followed by a silky smooth mix of roast and chocolate. Very very nice sessionable porter.
