COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep Amber red color, with a fragrant malt aroma. Flavorful notes of rich caramelized malt and noble hop flavors harmonize on the palate leading to a crisp clean finish. Named after one of Cleveland’s most respected safety directors, who frequented the brewpub’s bar during his tenure from 1935-1941 and, according to popular legend, was responsible for the bullet holes still evident today.

An amber beer with a disappearing orange head. The aroma is sweet and very fruity combined with notes of caramel, and a touch of alcohol. The flavor has primary notes of caramel, and a dry mouthfeel that starts quite early, and leads to a bitter hoppy end.

A: The beer pours a somewhat cloudy copper color with about two fingers of khaki colored head. S: Nice sweet caramel and toffee malt aromas to this. Plenty of toasted bread/malts are also there. There is a touch of yeast and some floral and spicy hop notes. Very nice nose. T: Fairly sweet, but not overly so. Caramel and toffee malt flavors are there with some toasted bread. Light floral and spicy hop flavor and very faint bitterness. M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Very crisp. O: An extremely well done lager. I very much enjoyed this.

Rich, deep amber colour; chewy nose of fresh malt; crisp, with good, evenly balanced malt flavours, balanced by toasty notes and a well-structured bitterness.

Bottle from Archer Liquor. Pours reddish copper with a foamy off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel. Near medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is caramel and odd bits like nuts and stuff. Flavors aren’t weak. It’s not very bitter, and that’s how it finishes. Ok amber. Maybe better than ok, but more something would be better yet. Finishes more sweet than bitter, but it is rather smooth. If less than bitter is your thing, you will love this.
