COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep Amber red color, with a fragrant malt aroma. Flavorful notes of rich caramelized malt and noble hop flavors harmonize on the palate leading to a crisp clean finish. Named after one of Cleveland’s most respected safety directors, who frequented the brewpub’s bar during his tenure from 1935-1941 and, according to popular legend, was responsible for the bullet holes still evident today.

Color is a nice clear red amber with a 1 finger white head with tight bubbles. Aroma hits you with biscuit bready malts and some sweetness. Taste followes the nose exactly with huge bready malts. Mouthfeel is medium and smooth with soft carbonation. Great example of the style.

Deep red color with a sweet, malty nose. Nice balance with a small hop bite. Not a big fan of ambers but this is good.

A- Pours a deep copper color with a nice, 2 finger, off white head that leaves lots of lacing on then way down. S- Bready, dark fruit T- Sweet, slightly fruity, hints of roasted malt. A little too sweet on the back end for me. M- Medium bodied with ample carbonation. D- This is a decent brew however i’d like a little more of a hop kick to balance it out.

Great Lakes is one of my favorite breweries. Very flavorful but a little bitter for my liking.

Had a glass on tap as part of a flight at Ashley’s in Ann Arbor. Dark color. This is very nice, but on the sweet side for me.

A solidily malt-forward beer with some caramel and biscuts on the nose. A solid amber with hints of hops (I was expecting more hops)

Bottle. Pours cherry red, no head. A: candied fruit. T: caramel red apple, a little sweet on the finish. P: light, juicy feel with a medium carb and body. Refreshing great example of the style. I would definitely get this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle. Pours a beautiful amber. Caramel malt aroma. Surprising nice bitterness to balance the sweet malts. Finishes clean. Really good lager.
