Clear amber with off white head. Aroma is nice caramel sweet. Taste does not live up to the nose. Sweet and bitter and a little funky. Overall rating relects a better score than the taste really allows. the look smell and palate are its saving grace.

3.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 columbustaster (32) - Ohio, USA - JUN 2, 2013
Pours a redish brown with disappearing beige head. Little bit of malty aroma. This is a medium bodied beer. It has a well balanced flavor of roasted malt and bitter hops with a hint of fruit in the background. It doesn’t quite measure up to my favorite in this style(Boston Lager) but it is very, very good.

Bottle @ home via trade with barak316. Thanks Bill! Pours a deep burnt orange appearance with a light brown head and not the best retention. Somewhat citrusy, toasty cracker malty, caramel, fairly sweet aroma. Just a touch burnt/roasty, rich caramel malty, a bit bready, light citrusy flavor. Pretty solid brew.

Poured from bottle. Dark amber/orange/red color. Slightly off white head that faded quickly but lots of lacing all the way down. Malt, yeast, bread, hop, alcohol aromas. Taste is nice balance of sweet, bitter and salt (soy). Medium body, somewhat creamy texture. Lively carbonation. My first Great Lakes offering. Really nice.

It’s an amber, and it’s a little better than usual. Not a style that excites me, but I could drink more than one of these.
