Draft - pours deep gold with head and great lacing. Smoky for sure like peat. Slight hop kick. Light.

7oz on tap at Fifty West. Clear orange color. Thin white head. Good thicker lace. Medium body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Kind of soft, lightly slick finish. Good hop profile. Lightly spicy, and orange citrusy. Light caramel malt. I hear this is a smoked pale ale, but smoke is very subtle. This might be because I am standing next to a bonfire as I taste this. Moderate bitter taste, little sweet taste. Solid, hoppy pale ale. Sneaky amount of smoke... well-balanced, you could say

On tap at mad mex. Looks like a yuengling. Smells like clean beer. Ooooo, the taste is quite strong at first. However, never makes it over the top. For a 6%, I guess its not coming on too strong after the session gets going. Yes, ass kicken but yet remains reserved. Indeed, a unique beery flavor. Finish is a tad medicinal.

On tap. Looks great, smells great. Lacks in hops and mouth feel. Not only is the smokiness overbearing but so is the maltiness. When I saw it I thought it would be much better than it ended up. Would not recommend, even for smoked beer advocates.

Draft from Whole Foods Plymouth Meeting. Pours clear dark straw with off-white head. Nose is rauchy pale malt, hopcitrus. Tastes crisp with a well balanced smoky flavor paired with a nice hopcitrus and pale malt backbone. This one is smooth and flavorful, with a clean finish. The crew at Craft Ale House enjoyed this one, as did the King of Crambone.

Not my favorite smoked beer. I’ve had it twice recently and the smoke is a little too overbearing. Just too much campfire. The aroma is strong smoke too. I think the base pale ale would be pretty good with a less pronounced smoke. Probably just my personal taste on smoke beers, but this could be dialed back a touch.

Tap. Deep golden with small head. Light malt with moderate smoke. Mild hops. Interesting, but not really my thing.

Had a glass as part of a sampler at Reverend in BG. Interesting, slightly smoky, not super hoppy.
