The beer pours a hazy copper to amberish color with a beige crown that bubbles away pretty quickly. The aroma has caramelized sugar and some banana. The flavor has banana, light spice, a yeasty middle, and the alcohol is hidden. This beer has a medium to meidum-full body and is chewy. Overall this beer is a big hefe and very good. Summary: This beer tastes like banana dipped in caramel with ground clove sprinkled on top!
12 fl. oz. bottle (8.0% Alc/Vol) at Courtside Pizza & Sports Bar in Athens, Ohio during Ohio Brew Week 2009. Rating #113 for this beer.

Though the aroma is minimal, it poured a dark amber with a hint of red. The head was nice, light and lacy. A wonderfully smooth malt flavor with a hint of spice. The mouthfeel is smooth like velvet. A Full Bodied easy drinking, uptown beer! A new favorite! jb (1063), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 14, 2009 This happens to be one of my favorite styles, I mean add wheat to bock and you are bringing together two very good worlds. This one starts out nice with a hazy reddish orange color, minimal head, apple cider aroma + bananas and baked bread, wow. Nice sour palate, coloves and bananas, thick, dense, earthy, some plums in the back, and something big and earthy at the end I couldn’t put my fingers on. Very nice representative of the German style. PilsnerPeter (2667), Flushing, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 14, 2009 Bottle: Hazy copper with a dense off white film of head. Relatively sweet aroma with a solid malt presence meshing with esters making if reminiscent of caramel soaked banana- has some clove phenols as well. Creamy dense carbonation. Softly sweet undertones in the flavor with notes of plum, vanilla, but stays balanced by some spicy clove phenolics. A solid Weizenbock. MoDog (927), Griffith, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 12, 2009 12oz bottle (Enjoy by 11/09/09) served in a weizen glass. Attractive, clear, dark copper pour with a thick head of light beige foam that slowly faded into a lasting cap. Slick, spotty lacing. The aroma had strong notes of yeasty banana and clove. Also some caramelized malt and fresh wheat bread. The flavor had fruity banana balanced out by rich caramel and a bit of spicy clove. The big malty notes steal the show, but the banana and clove add some nice depth. Full-bodied with light carbonation. Big and malty, but really drinkable and tasty. kassner (475), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 10, 2009 Updated: Jul 11, 200912 oz bottle courtesy of Binnys (Orland Park, IL). Pours a hazy dark amber, small offwhite head that films, laces some. Aromas are banana and clove off the bat, flaked wheat and softer esters, a hoppy floral feel works in as well. Pleasant. Initial is a bit darker and toasted on the malts, bringing banana esters and cloves into the body for a pleasant combination. Grainy wheat, smooth and a firm yet lighter body than expected wth light spiciness. Bringing up light bitterness, largely a smooth body, fruity and malts, very pleasant and fuller. Finish is light bitter and a bit darker malt. Not bad at all. wxman (594), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
