OhioDad (2492), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Oct 10, 2006 On tap at the brewpub - Pours pale golden with a short white head that stayed pretty well and laced some. Very interesting aroma of ginger, and lemon over light grains. Flavor is lots of ginger and some lemon. Refreshing and crisp on the palate. An interesting ale to say the least.. Drew (2377), Kent, Ohio, USA Aug 5, 2004 Bright gold, short white head (well, the pint was very full, not much room for head), some lacing. Aroma is strong ginger, citrus and spice. Taste is light, but not too light bodied; lemony lime sweet sugar malts with a spicy finish - it seemed like the ginger bite didn’t kick in until 10 minutes later. A really nice hot weather brew. Dogbrick (2266), Columbus, Ohio, USA May 1, 2007 Cask version at Barley’s 5th Annual Mini RAF (04/28/07): This beer is a hazy yellow color with a thin and quickly diminishing white head. Minimal lacing. The aroma is yeasty with some ginger and lemon. Light, crisp body with zesty citrus, wheat and ginger flavors. The finish is refreshing and citrusy and leaves a mild bitter hops aftertaste. A lawnmower beer as only Great Lakes could provide. Glouglouburp (2008), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 14, 2008 In short: Some kind of very herbal and spicy Hefe-Weizen. Weird and kind of fun.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Ugly murky dirty banana color with a very small white head
In long: Spicy nose. Taste has lemongrass upfront with plenty of hay/wheat some bananas some ginger, some lemon. Very herbal. The finish is as tart as it is spicy. This beer is actually quite tasty. Unusual and pleasant. Name refers to stuff the brewer was smoking to come-up with a recipe like that.
sliffy (1951), Columbus, Ohio, USA Oct 12, 2006 Draft at the brew pub: Hazy pale golden color with a medium white head. Aroma was lemony, some grass, yeast and the ginger. Flavor, ginger up front, some lemon, a little peaty. Light on the palate. Some pleasent spicing to it. I thought it was nice and refreshing, but maybe a bit too sweet.
