3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared at local BA tasting and draft at Barley’s Smokehouse.
Poured a clear yellow-amber color with an average creamy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy herbs, lemon and earthy aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and lively carbonation. Medium citrus sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.
This is a good beer for style and my expectations where met.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler acquired in trade with goryshkewych (thanks!). Poured a medium and slightly hazy golden color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of ginger (but not over powering), bready, herbal, grass, and some citrus. Tastes of ginger, citrus, a little fruity (bananas), and spices.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Kind of odd saison. Pours light coloured body with abundant white foaming head. Herbal, yeasty and some spice aroma, al together rather odd. Taste is herbal tea married with beer, drinkable but not something i would seek out again. Middling mouthfeel.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask version at Barley’s 5th Annual Mini RAF (04/28/07): This beer is a hazy yellow color with a thin and quickly diminishing white head. Minimal lacing. The aroma is yeasty with some ginger and lemon. Light, crisp body with zesty citrus, wheat and ginger flavors. The finish is refreshing and citrusy and leaves a mild bitter hops aftertaste. A lawnmower beer as only Great Lakes could provide.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Courtesy of markwise. My first new Great Lakes brew in some time. crizay, where’s the hook up brotha? Sorry for off topic but crizay frikin’ ROCKS! Pours gold with off white head. The aroma is honey, some spices and chamomile. The taste first seems sweet and a bit honey like then layers of grain and earthiness hit about midway. Yum The chamomile is subtle and hanging out in the background. Yet another solid brew from Great Lakes.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled, BB 11/16/09. Poured clear, rather bright orange with a short, kinda fizzy cap of off-white head.. plenty of rising carbonation. The aroma had some pale malts that were completely overshadowed by an array of odd spices and dark notes.. lemongrass, mint, and corinder spring to mind, but there was more to it.. if I enjoyed it more, I would’ve gone to the spice rack to get some hints.. some apparent warmth on the back of the nose. The flavor had basically the same stuff.. pale and some honey maltage at the core with a hodgepodge of spices around.. lemon zest, coriander, and sticky herbal character.. tacky pale and caramel maltage on the finish with a thick spice slurry. Medium-bodied with a heavier feel than it should’ve had on the palate.. flavors really didn’t come together well. Campfire smoke came out the longer I let this sit.. don’t know if it was intentional, but it was mildly intriguing.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle from The Party Source. Pours a hazy orange-gold color with a small eggshell white head and lots of visible sediments. Aroma of Belgian yeast, straw, grass, honey, citrus, coriander, farmhouse, and floral notes. Flavor is vegetal and yeasty, with notes of citrus, banana, straw, grass, dirt, and sweet malts. Medium bodied, with a dry, yeasty mouthfeel. This one is appropriately named- earthy and loyal to the farmhouse ale style. It just has an odd flavor and lingering aftertaste of grass and yeast.
