Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Apr 26, 2005 Pouring a cloudy yellow color, the fizzy head didn’t get large enough or remain long enough for the style. The aroma was mainly lemon, and a cleanser type of a lemon at that. There were also some perfume-like floral hops and spices that greeted the nose. The taste was fruity, mainly lemon with some mild spicing. The chamomile really didn’t show itself until the finish. It also coated the mouth with a gingerish kind of aftertaste. I like this brewery, but I think they missed on this one. Tmoney99 (4652), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Apr 17, 2005 Bottle. I enjoy my stouts and porters so drink of a Belgian was a pleasent change. A cloudy amber with a rocky medium head. Aroma and flavor of wheat, fruit and sweet tone. Medium body with complex but short finish with hint of banana. Good spring brew with light meal. guzzler67 (1272), Hanover, Maryland, USA Apr 17, 2005 Bright yellow appearance with a small white head and little lacing. Spicy, fruity aroma. Mild bitterness with a taste that was smooth and moderately carbonated. Not terrilby complex, but still enjoyable. b00man00d (1), USA does not count Apr 14, 2005 A very citrussy and acidic beer. Although the beer feels refreshing it is a bit too acidic for my taste. The citrussy flavor does however go well with a warm summer’s day. MaxPower (961), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Apr 8, 2005 Cloudy hazy light pale golden color, spicy, earthy citrus aromas, nice white frothy head that sticks to the sides of my glass. Fresh wheat and mild spice-orange flavors, crisp carbonated mouthfeel, finishes clean and dry, great for the style, very refreshing and tasty, one of my favorites. Bigsky66 (148), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA Apr 5, 2005 Light citrus and grain aroma. Floral and and light wheat flavor. Lemon and a slight saltyness. Tingly on the palate at the end. beerhugger (541), Oshawa, Ontario, Canada Apr 2, 2005 Nice hazy gold with lots of orange peel and coriander. Spicy and malty, this somewhat sweet malty beer is refreshing but not overpoweringly complex and interesting. Good but not great. shadey (1496), Rochester, New York, USA Mar 24, 2005 Updated: Dec 28, 200712oz bottle. Hazy yellow color with a thin white head. Spicy citric aroma. Wheaty citrus flavor with a wierd aftertaste. Not bad but not great.
I tried this again and my first rating was pretty accurate even years later. For a wit beer, this is different and not what I would expect or want.
