crizay (1069), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA Dec 31, 2004 Updated: Jan 6, 2007 Pours clear yellow big fluffy white head. Flavor is malty and spicy with orange peel and a touch of coriander and even some lemon, I really don’t get the chamomile other than the slight sweetness it leaves, hops are there as well.
PorterPounder (2767), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Jul 26, 2008 Cleveland, Oh. - Progressive Field - Indians/Twins game - 12 oz bottle. Medium gold pour, soft white head that sticks around a while. Faint hint of bananas in the aroma with some cloves as well. Buttery flavor with some spicy notes - coriander and finishes with some sweet yeastiness. Kind of a starchy mouthfeel. MtStateBeer (43), Hurricane, West Virginia, USA Jul 21, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours an cloudy yellowish color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is citrusy, maybe grapefruit, spices, and maybe a hint of grain. Flavor is sweet initially, with a slight bitter finish. Light on the palate and very drinkable. sja14 (49), Ohio, USA Jul 17, 2008 pours hazy yellow but not as cloudy as other wits. Swee, spicy, and citrusy. Not the best offering from GLBC and not my favorite witbier. It almost seems too heavy for a wit. pint_size (1001), Austin, Texas, USA Jul 17, 2008 7-9-08 bottle thanks to crizay!!
Cloudy orangish yellow pour with an average fluffy white head. Smell is pungent funk and hefty yeast. A bit too pungent for me and not enough sweetness or fruitiness in there to balance. Flavor is a touch sweet and almost citrisy. It is nice and actually surprising. Thirst quenching and enjoyable. Bubbly palate that somehow works here. Smell is a touch feet-like but flavor is nice and refreshing and gulpable. FlssmrBrewAlum (169), South Chicago Suburbs, Illinois, USA Jul 16, 2008 Poured on tap at The Galway Tribes (Frankfort, IL). Pours a light orangish hue with a decent white head that manages to stick around. Smell is typical of a wit, but more enjoyable than many of the popular ones of the market. Citrus, wheaty sweetness, spices, and a slight touch of coriander (But not very powerful at all). Initial is much the same, medium bodied and respectable in taste but still refreshing and light on the stomach and palate. Finishes smooth without any ill effects but also without a lot of memorable moments. Good, not the best, but a Wit I’d return to any day.
